I got a laptop from my company and I booted it up and it said BIOS auto recovery. BIOS corruption has been detected and auto recovery is triggered. Power status: ok. Then that’s it no way to click off of it or fix it. What should I do?

Hey everyone,
The procedure mentioned in the official Dell link should be applicable to G5 5505,
What to try is to use a BIOS version one level less than the current version to do stepping downgrading.
Your feedback are highly appreciated,
Regards.
My Dell Inspiron 3583 did an automatic windows update this morning and updated the BIOS to 1.28.0 It said it needed a reboot to finish the updates and it rebooted. Now it doesn't boot up to windows and perpetually starts auto recovery mode. But nothing works, Ive tried all the options, resetting bios settings, choosing the option to reinstall / wipe the computer, etc. It always says error.
Any suggestions? I'd like to keep the info on my computer, but at this point even if it's wiped, I'd love to have a functioning laptop. I need one for work.
Hi All
Trying to bring our estate up to date with latest BIOS's there is anticipation doing this scripted, 3rd party, remotely etc due to our users hard powering off the device and causing a corrupt or bricked device.
I have been reading about the BIOS recovery facility that can be invoked at boot up but seeing our devices are re-imaged I believe that the recovery file would of been overwritten.
I know the option for recovery is off by default, but I can use cctk to enable the option in the BIOS using a 3rd party app. However, that's no good if the file doesn't exist.
My question, is it possible to put this file back in place wherever it may be stored, I know flashing the BIOS does this but that defeats what we are trying to achieve....?
TIA
Whenever the computer boots up, a window pops up momentarily that says 'BIOS corruption detected and auto recovery is triggered'. It then goes to an updating firmware screen with a flash progress bar. Once it reaches 100%, it says 'BIOS update blocked due to unsupported downgrade' and 'BIOS auto recovery failed'. The computer then restarts and starts the process all over again.
I've done the Ctrl + Esc to open up the BIOS recovery menu and chosen all three options (recover, reset to default, or rollback) and they all just go back to the same updating firmware screen. I appreciate any help on how to fix this.
I don't want the PC to boot automatically. How to stoo this?
Dell OptiPlex 7079 Micro. Latest BIOS installed. If it matters: installed Windows 11, Linux Mint and Fedora workstation in multiboot mode.
Thanks die your help in advance!
