I have the same problem, and went through the same sequence of steps. I have a Dell XPS 13 (9333). Windows 10 Home x64 edition. I have Dell Support Assist 2.2.1.23 installed. I tried to uninstall Dell Support Assist and got this error: Error 2753. The File 'WickInstaller.5CE21306_A484_4807_29446153A569' is not marked for installation One other thing I noticed: I had a look in Event Viewer and the following errors were generated by Dell Support Assist on my system when it tried to run itself today: Event 1000, Application ErrorFaulting application name: SupportAssistUI.exe, version: 2.2.1.23, time stamp: 0x5b16a70fFaulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x0627ece3Faulting process ID: 0x3348Faulting application start time: 0x01d40defbaa97c6dFaulting application path: C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\SupportAssistUI.exeFaulting module path: unknownReport ID: fa9d66ee-b8c3-4ec0-b5ff-1f0be84d4098Faulting package full name:Faulting package-relative application ID: Event 1026, .NET RuntimeApplication: SupportAssistUI.exeFramework Version: v4.0.30319Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.Exception Info: System.NullReferenceExceptionat Dell.Services.SupportAssist.SupportAssistUI.MainWindow.UpdateWindowActionState()at Dell.Services.SupportAssist.SupportAssistUI.MainWindow.OnMainWindowActivated(System.Object, System.EventArgs)at System.Windows.Window.OnActivated(System.EventArgs)at System.Windows.Window.HandleActivate(Boolean)at System.Windows.Window.WmActivate(IntPtr)at System.Windows.Window.WindowFilterMessage(IntPtr, Int32, IntPtr, IntPtr, Boolean ByRef)at System.Windows.Interop.HwndSource.PublicHooksFilterMessage(IntPtr, Int32, IntPtr, IntPtr, Boolean ByRef)at MS.Win32.HwndWrapper.WndProc(IntPtr, Int32, IntPtr, IntPtr, Boolean ByRef)at MS.Win32.HwndSubclass.DispatcherCallbackOperation(System.Object)at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(System.Delegate, System.Object, Int32)at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(System.Object, System.Delegate, System.Object, Int32, System.Delegate)at System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.LegacyInvokeImpl(System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherPriority, System.TimeSpan, System.Delegate, System.Object, Int32)at MS.Win32.HwndSubclass.SubclassWndProc(IntPtr, Int32, IntPtr, IntPtr)

Dell Command Update Error - Dell Community
March 13, 2019 - I was told that it is a known issue that version 2.3.0 newly installed on a PC running Windows 7 will prompt this error. The workaround for now is to uninstall DCU v2.3.0, install version 2.2.0 from the driver download page, then let it self update to 2.3.0. I can confirm that this works on the two models that I was having trouble with. The tech that I spoke with mentioned that they were in the process of publishing a KB article with this fix as well. ... I would like to know if anyone would know how to create my catalog.xml in dell command update.
