However, in the settings app under system > recovery, you can choose to reset this PC, which will re-install Windows 11 to a clean state. Preinstalled apps and drivers that came with your computer will be removed, but most of them can be obtained automatically after the reset via Windows Update and the Microsoft Store. Everything else will have to be downloaded and installed manually from Dell's website. Note: Be sure to backup your personal files before resetting! I have a Dell laptop with 1TB hard drive (no SSD), in Troubleshoot section it shows two options ("Reset this PC" and "Factory Image Restore") and I've tried them both but the outcome seems to be the same.
Resetting it by deleting everything took me around 6-8 hours + 30 min for the windows installation. After that I had to manually download softwares like Dell Update, Dell SupportAssist, ...
Factory Image Restore on the other hand only took around 20 minutes to download the newest version of existing Window 10 and other Dell softwares automatically. I selected the option to delete everything here as well but for the entire process it only took less than 2 hours.
Even when I tried to Full Format a 1TB external hard it took more than 2 hours so I'm kind of confused what that Factory Image Restore is or what's the clear difference between it and Resetting?
Also which option is best if I want to sell my laptop?

If you want to sell your laptop and it's a business model, Wipe Drive from the BIOS options will suffice.

"Reset this PC" is used to re-install Windows on a machine where the installation is corrupt or damaged. It usually keeps your data files but removes your installed apps. It's part of Windows (ie, it's something that Microsoft implements and maintains) and is the same on all PCs. "Factory Image Restore" wipes your hard drive and restores it back to the same condition as when it left the factory. Its purpose is to prepare your machine for sale. It is implemented by copying an OEM prepared image (ie, an image that Dell created) of the OS onto your hard drive. That image contains Windows as well as the necessary drivers as well as any bundled utilities and bloatware that the OEM wanted to be on the hard drive when it left the factory. The factory image is different for each different PC. HTH.

If the reset fails, your recovery image is corrupt.
If you have the Dell Support Assist option by pressing the F12 key on the Dell logo screen when you start your system, then you can use that Dell option, but please note, that option will delete all partitions and data from your system, and install a clean version of Windows.
If that option also fails, you will need to create a bootable Windows USB and use that to clean install Windows, which will also create a new recovery image on the drive, are you using Windows 10 or 11 on your system.

When a Dell laptop doesn’t complete a factory reset and just returns to the main screen, it usually means the Windows Recovery Environment or the recovery partition is damaged. Here are a few steps you can try:
1. Reset from Advanced Startup
- On the login screen, click the Power icon.
- Hold Shift and click Restart.
- After the system restarts, go to: Troubleshoot → Reset this PC → Remove everything.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Use Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery
If the above doesn’t work:
- Restart your laptop and press F12 when the Dell logo appears.
