I have a dell g15 5511 with a 56whr battery and it gives me just over 2 hrs of continuous video playback on 120hz and power-saving mode. What do you think about it? Should I look for a replacement or is it normal?

Anyone have tips on how to increase the battery life on battery? My specs is the i7-11800H with a 3060.

Have you tried Dell Power Manager? You can look it up and download it. Use "Battery Extender" as well as Thermal Management to Quiet to reduce fan usage. Then set the battery settings to "battery saver" on windows. This managed to increase my battery life an hour or two. Also make sure that G-mode is OFF (which it is by default unless you switch on and forget about it). You can also reduce refresh rate to 60 hz... I wish it was possible to reduce to 120hz or 90hz or something rather than all the way down to 60 (from 165), my eyes feel offended every time I see a 60hz screen after getting used to 165 lol. But I'm still boggled at seeing results of 12 hours or even 8 hours in some people's benchmarks... what settings are these people using? I have the 86 Wh battery which is the higher capacity.. and it only lasts me 4-5 hours on VERY light usage? Perhaps it's a browser choice issue? I'll try testing with chrome/firefox/opera and see which is better, which would be interesting considering opera is the only one with a 'battery saver' mode built in. Firefox is currently my main browser. If it ends up being a power glutton it would be very disappointing. Could also be that the 11th gen i7 is a power hungry cpu compared to the Ryzen model... idk. I feel cheated because I kept hearing about people getting 8-12 hours of battery life on this laptop and I can barely scrape 5, and I actually need the 8 minimally due to frequent power outages in my city and I'm using this primarily for work from home as well.

i've had this G15 5511 for exactly a year now, and with minimal google chrome usage the battery barely lasts an hour after charging to around 80-85%. Earlier it went at least a couple hours but now it's just draining awfully quickly. I've tried all the usual power saving settings but it's honestly ridiculous having to plug in every hour just to watch youtube or do research online. Any help would be appreciated

Install dell power manager (from windows store) and set profile to Silent 3 Click on battery icon on Taskbar and move the slider towards Battery saver 4. Use NVIDIA GEFORCE Drivers and Enable Battery Boost. (turn it while gaming)
