One thing that always catches me is that even if you set the idrac ipv4 to DHCP there is a separate setting for getting DNS servers from DHCP. So make sure either you've got that set or specify a DNS server. More on reddit.com

I just got an r730xd and have been trying to update firmware on it before I actually start using it.
So far I have only been able to update firmware by manually uploading firmware files to the iDRAC update and rollback tool. So far I have done this to get both BIOS and iDRAC firmware up to latest and even with those updated I still haven't been able to get it to update firmware from downloads.dell.com using the HTTPS file location. Every time I try to check for updates it spins for a bit and then says " LC023: Cannot access network share. " Does anybody have any insight on how to get that to work? I would prefer to not have to manually download updates and push them to the server one at a time.
I have tried searching for a solution and have seen some dell pages mention that it is a known error, but they all say updating the iDRAC firmware fixes it which has not resolved the issue for me. I have tried checking for updates from downloads.dell.com both from iDRAC update and rollback tool as well as the lifecycle controller and they both fail to connect.

The Dell repos are offline for Gen12 and earlier (so not yours), so should still work for you. But maybe try this repo I use for my older Dells: https://updateyodell.net/ It works for Gen13’s for sure.

Anyone else not able to get updates via https from the iDRAC web interface currently? I've tried multiple R740/R530/R730 at multiple different data centers as well as my home lab and all fail.
LC023: Cannot access network share
Was curious if anyone else is currently experiencing the same issues.
