My dad bought me a Dell Inspiron 5000 2-in-1, the 5410 kind back in 2020 for school. It worked amazingly until two weeks ago when my battery started draining rapidly, regardless of whether or not I used it. Even if I don't have my brightness up (I keep my brightness low due to comfort), any external hardware isn't used at all, nor do I have that many tabs open nowadays. I even kept my laptop on with nothing in the background, not in use at all, and no tabs open just to show my dad how fast the battery drained and even he was surprised. Before I contact Dell's technical support, I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience and how they got through it?

Dell supports units for up to 5 years from, from what I can tell working at the depot... You should be able to get a genuine Dell battery if you so desire. I wishbthe 3rd party batteries were more reliable because I get that they're significantly cheaper, but we see many MANY units coming in for "my unit won't charge" and its because the 3rd party battery a customer has installed is faulty and fails testing.

Hey all, my 2.5-year-old Dell Inspiron 5428, which is a 2-in-1 14inch laptop, has been struggling with its battery life in recent weeks. Checking on bootup lists the battery capacity as "fair", and it's down to 15,037 mWh capacity vs. its design capacity of 41,998 mWh. It's weak enough now that it's starting to disrupt my usage patterns, so I would like to get a replacement battery.
The issue now is, where in the world can I find a replacement battery for this model?? There are some seedy-looking websites that claim to carry replacement batteries and Amazon, but can these sellers be trusted? It appears that Dell is no longer selling replacements for this model directly. I can't use batteries meant for other 5000-series models, can I?
