The reset procedure actually is to disconnect the battery and the adapter. Then press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try to reboot. Run a diagnostic procedure by tapping F12 immediately at boot. If it runs properly watch for any errors. That flashing amber light means a low battery charge. It is possible that the battery needs to be replaced or that the adapter is not charging the battery properly. If the adapter light stays on then a short is not likely. If possible try another Dell adapter. It is also possible that the DC jack is having problems and needs to be replaced. Least likely cause, the MB charging circuit is not working.

Power off computer, remove battery, connect AC adapter,and then power on system again. Please observe any blinking lights. If the blinking lights are still there, power off the system again, remove AC adapter. Press and hold down the power button for 20 seconds to drain any excess static power. Replace battery, connect adapter, and then power on system. Hopefully, there aren't any flashing lights.

It’s possible that the battery has reached the end of its lifespan. Battery Report Check: Create a battery report to check the status of your current battery. Open a Command Prompt window (search for 'cmd' in the Start menu). Type the following command and press Enter: powercfg /batteryreport This will generate a battery report. Locate the report file (usually saved in your user folder) and open it. Compare the Design Capacity value with the Full Charge Capacity value. For a healthy battery, these values should be nearly the same. Battery Replacement: If the tests indicate that your battery is not reaching its full capacity, consider replacing it. I don't know anything about laptops, but a white light next to the battery icon is flashing white. It's directly to the left. I tried to google what this light means and google says its a "device access" light or a "hard drive" light. I don't know what its for.
My laptop is a Dell Latitude Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 16GB RAM 500GB SSD Windows 11 HDMI.
It's not having any functional issues, the flashing light is just kinda annoying and I need to know what it means, and if it means something is wrong with it. The laptop is refurbished but its in very good condition. It charges fine, nothing seems wrong with it so I can't figure out why its flashing.
Google says it could be "hardware issues" or the battery is wrong but nothing seems wrong with the battery.
At the very least I'd like to turn it off, I'm gonna have to tape it lol
