You may be able to free it with a small tool, toothpick, or card. But other than that, opening up the case to try repairs could void your warranty, so I'd recommend contacting Dell before you open it up.

Thank you for the response; however, it seems the button magically freed itself. I will remember your fix should the problem reoccur.
Looking for some technical insight on a Dell laptop (company-issued) that seems to be stuck.
Sequence of events: Laptop was working normally Closed the lid without shutting down Immediately reopened it Screen stayed black and never recovered
Current symptoms: Power button LED stays ON continuously No charging LED when AC adapter is plugged in No keyboard response (Caps Lock doesn’t toggle) No Dell logo / no POST Cannot enter BIOS (F2 / F12 don’t work) Win + Shift + B does nothing
What I’ve tried: Long power drain (holding power button 30–60 sec, multiple times) Leaving it unplugged for hours Lid open vs closed Charger unplugged / replugged Basic reset attempts Nothing changes — the power LED just stays on.
Anyone faced this? What to do?
Help is there an easy way I fix my chrome book 5190? Thx
Help my Dell laptop won't turn on I've done everything said from the internet. Any tips? I got important stuff I forgot to download 😭
Whenever the power button is pressed, it sticks in for a second before audibly popping back into position. Has anyone else had this problem? I currently need my laptop during this period of time so would prefer not to send it in/ get a replacement if it is not a serious issue/ hasn't become serious for anyone suffering from the same thing.
