So my laptop froze so I decided to turn it off by holding down the power button for a few seconds and when I tried to turn it on, it didnt work. Now im leaving it to maybe fix itself, but the charging light flashes orange and then white. I tried to look up what it meant but everything said it was a hardware issue, which I didn't think would be possible since it was only a crash, and I've done this multiple times and it never happened before. Should I leave it be or should I do something.

Try unplugging the computer. Let the battery run down 100%. Recharge. See what happens. Edit: If you feel comfortable opening the laptop, remove the battery. Hold the start button for about 15 seconds, then reinstall the battery. Reassemble computer cover. Try restarting the computer. Good luck.

Run a diagnostic procedure by tapping F12 immediately at boot. If it runs properly watch for any errors. That flashing amber light means a low battery charge. It is possible that the battery needs to be replaced or that the adapter is not charging the battery properly. If the adapter light stays on then a short is not likely. If possible try another Dell adapter. It is also possible that the DC jack is having problems and needs to be replaced. Least likely cause, the MB charging circuit is not working.
