Hi,
I have this weird scenario where the keyboard and caps lock light up on pressing the power button, but the screen remains blank (no Dell logo). After a few seconds, the keyboard light goes off too.
Some background
-
This machine was effectively running by plugging into a power outlet as its charger had lost capacity.
-
One fine day, it says battery not detected, and on the next start, the original problem (keyboard lighting up but not booting) occurs. I remove the battery; the laptop runs and functions as normal.
-
The next day, the problem (lighting up but not booting) occurs again, despite the battery having been removed. I do a hard reset (holding power for 30 seconds) and it starts again.
-
A day or so later, it takes a fair bit of time to boot. Task manager/startup shows 27 seconds as the boot time; used to be 6 seconds earlier. Once booted, it functions normally. However on the next restart, the keyboard shows issues (multiple strokes for a single button press, and sometimes no strokes/letters appear at all)
-
A day or so later, it refuses to start at all (the original problem of keyboard lighting up for a few seconds when power is pressed, but screen is blank) Nothing I do (including the hard reset) helps.
Any ideas/suggestions/fixes?

Sounds Great. Thanks for updating me.
I suggest perform a system restore to a point before u installed the drivers.

If you do not have any restore point, reset Windows to the factory settings:

Please let me know if you need further assistance and keep me updated.

Thank you for your quick response.
I actually got the logo to show up by pressing fn+f1+right key+power button (shift+power key didn't do the trick) for about 15 seconds to completely shut it off. Then I reset the clock on BIOS and after a couple of restarts it started working again.
Regarding drivers, is there a built in way to revert the updates made by Driver Booster? There are so many that I don't know which one is causing the issue. Updating each one by one manually sounds like a pain.
