Hi Ftdsn244, Welcome to the community. In this case I would suggest you to release the static power and load BIOS defaults. The issue may be caused by the static power. Following are the steps to release the static power. Remove the battery as well as the ac adapter from the system. Press and hold down power button pressed for 10 seconds. Once done, load the BIOS defaults by using the followings steps- Restart the system and start tapping the F2 key as soon as you see the Dell Logo. Once done. UPDATE So I took out the batteries of the laptops then just plugged them in and they both worked fine, did not freeze at all? Anyone know the problem here? I have had bad batteries installed before and they never froze like that they just didn't read or didn't hold charge. Could it be from sitting there they are so dead or are they just bad?

If taking the USB keyboard out completes the boot it seems its not a problem with the mainboard. Can you try another keyboard?

Hello Univers789, Re-installing windows is the last resort. So before doing that, you can try the steps mentioned below which might fix the issue. 1. Restart the laptop and start tapping the F2 key at the Dell logo for enter the BIOS. 2. Navigate to the 'Advanced' menu. 3. Change the SATA operation/selection in BIOS from Intel Smart Response to AHCI. 4. Press F10 to save changes and exit. 5. Reboot the system. 6. Go back into the BIOS by tapping the F2 key and change the SATA operation/selection in BIOS from AHCI to Intel Smart Response. 7. Save changes and exit by pressing the F10 key. 8. Reboot the system and it should boot normally into Windows. In case the above steps don’t fix the issue, run the Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA / ePSA) Diagnostics. Run the test and check if gives any error code. Note down the error code and update me with the same, would let you know the next course of action. Please write back with results.
