Going to buy a 2 in 1 laptop thoughts on convertable laptops?
Inspiron is pain (search and see plenty of issues - cheap and plastic). Unless you want to stay in dell support for ages... Go for latitude. More on reddit.com

best 2-and-1 laptop from dell
When I did my research, it seemed like even with similarly spec'd machines, the Inspiron always came out more affordable and I couldn't find any legit reason the XPS or Latitude lines carried such a premium, so I went with the 7306 with the specs you include in your post. Out of the box, the trackpad was not functioning properly and had to be replaced. I had upgraded to premium support, so a tech was dispatched and installed it. Once a trackpad that fit (don't ask) arrived the functionality went from 50% to 90% plus. No other hardware issues have arisen thus far. Aesthetically speaking, the build quality is gorgeous and I'm a big fan of the aluminum over the plastic frame. It's a little cold when you first boot up, but that goes away soon enough. The UHD is very crisp and I prefer the extra screen real estate over the battery life since I'm always plugged in, but you won't get 8hrs of battery life on this machine. Performance-wise, I was disappointed at how often the fans were coming on when just doing light browsing and video watching. I ended up disabling SpeedStep in the BIOS since I rarely need the full throttle of the CPU and it runs much cooler and quieter now. A bonus with the 7306 Black Edition is that it comes with a pen and has a built in docking station for it. The number of ports is adequate, though I do wish they had included an additional Thunderbolt port on the other side of the laptop for extra connectivity and option to change which side the charger plugs in on. SD cards sit nice and flush, and the HDMI is 2.0, which I noticed many of the other lines were still using 1.4. Price has even come down quite a bit since my purchase in Nov, so you can put that savings towards more years of support. For the XPS line I was not happy with the limited amount of ports and price, and Latitude was much too expensive for the same hardware in the Inspiron line. Edit: forgot to add that when watching movies in full screen, there is some screen bleed in the bottom left and right corners that shows through the blacks in those areas, but it was not enough for me to make a stink about and try for a replacement. I think those panels are just like that since they're not true OLED. More on reddit.com

The "convertibles" are always going to be a compromise between being a laptop and a tablet, esp. the hinge issues. You may be better off with a notebook and a touch screen, or use an external drawing tablet to take notes. I personally don't think using a stylus to take notes is a good idea, but I am probably prejudiced because I learned how to type and I can hit 90 wpm on a good day, 80 wpm on the average. September 21, 2020 -

Hello guys. After looking everything on the internet about the new 2and1 laptops Im in doubt between the new dell XPS 13 7390 2-and-1 and Inspiron 13 7000 2-and-1. If someone could help me and tell me your experience i would apreciate. Im talking about both models with processor intel 11th gen i7-1165GT, graphics intel iris Xe, 16gb ram LPDDR4x 4267MHz, 512gb rom, and display WLED FHD+ in XPS 13 7390 2-and-1 and UHD in Inspiron. thanks btw

NOTE: just sayin that the XPS 13 costs more USD350 than Inspiron 13 7000

Search for Killer wifi problems. The card is soldered to the motherboard and can't be replaced. It's junk. Somehow Killer took a good Intel card (AX200) and made it unreliable amd unstable. The 7390 2-in-1 is my last Dell ever. Been happy with Dell since 1998 but problems with this device and the general lack of support has me leaving. Getting a new Lenovo X1 Nano. See ya Dell.

Are 2 and 1 laptops really that bad? : r/Dell
February 25, 2025 - If OP is considering buying used, an 11th/12th gen XPS 13 2-in-1 (or Latitude 9420/9430/9330 2-in-1) would be a good choice. I would not buy anything as old as the 10th generation today. I think the 7390 is Ice Lake, so it's not horribly under-performant like the Cannon Lake 10th-gen systems, ...
