I'm looking at dropping $400 on a new Dell Latitude 3340, mainly for playing a few games on the go. Age of Empires 2, Company of Heroes, etc. Anyway wondering if this is the best value for gaming performance I'll see in the $400 range.
Specs are i5-4210U 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD 4400, 500 GB HDD, Win 7 Pro.
I'm looking to get a new laptop to upgrade from my current ThinkPad. As of now my two top options are Dell latitude 3340 and Asus Vivobook 14 Flip. Although the Vivobook has slightly better specs, I'm currently leaning towards the Dell Latitude (1.35Kg) because it weighs less than the Vivobook (1.5Kg). My current laptop is around 1.5-1.6Kg and it has absolutely destroyed my back and arms carrying it everyday for the last 5 years. I just wanted to hear other people's experiences with the Dell Latitude 3340. Is getting the Dell Latitude 3340 a good idea?

i am looking to buy a new laptop and since i don't have the most advanced knowledge on the specs side of things, i wanted to see if anyone here could help me figure out which of these is the best for the price and my needs. i will mainly be using the laptop for general use including my work as an at home tutor, some photo editing, occasional photo stacking (i use deepskystacker), and digital drawing. one thing i want to make sure of is that i can hook it up to external monitors and also that i'll be able to add more RAM as needed. with my current laptop (an inspiron 14 7420 2-in-1), i've been having hinge issues after just over 1 year, so i also want to make sure the hinges on whatever i get will be more durable. overall, i just want something reliable that will last a long time. which one of these would you guys recommend?

i just recently bought a dell latitude 3340 with an i3 4005u, currently has 8GB of RAM installed. researched and found the max capacity being 16GB DDR3, has anyone confirmed this? none of the sources i have found seemed legitimate or trustworthy. apologies if this question has been answered here before.
So i have this old laptop and it was stored in my closet for over 3 years. It was working fine before i just forgot about it, and I just tried to turn it on but it seems to have absolutely no power.
The adapter is fine and works on another laptop. There is no battery because i it lost years ago. I remember using it plugged in without battery but it doesn't even show any light or signs of power in it.
Does anyone know what could be the issue?
I’m leaving a job and have the option of taking a laptop with me - one is a Latitude 3340 manufactured in 2023 and the other is a Latitude 5510 manufactured in 2021.
I’m leaning towards the 5510 as I would like to have a number pad, but I also know I could purchase an external number pad for the 3340.
The laptop would be used mainly for web browsing, Word, and Excel.
The manufactured year is really what’s throwing me off. I know the 5510 is a better laptop, but I’d like to get the most possible use out of this free workstation I’ll be given.
Any and all advice is so appreciated! Thanks!
I recently got my hands on a Dell Latitude 3340 (i3-1215U, no touchscreen) with Win10 Pro. After setting it up, I noticed several things weren’t working. I asked ChatGPT and it said it's most likely a driver issue, missing drivers after install. I'm posting here to ask if anyone has run into the same thing or knows exactly which drivers to install to fix this.
Here are the issues I'm dealing with:
No Wi-Fi: Windows shows "Windows n'a pas trouvé de pilote pour votre carte réseau", and there’s no network adapter listed.
No sound: There’s a red X on the volume icon. When I click it, Windows troubleshooting runs but ends with "la résolution de problèmes s'est terminée sans détecter de problème" — still no sound.
Fn volume keys don’t work: Pressing them doesn’t change the volume or trigger anything.
Brightness stuck: The brightness overlay appears when I change it with the function keys, but the actual screen brightness doesn't change.
The windows is showing that win10 version 22H2 is installed on 06 /06/2025, it has 8gb of ram and 256GB, 12th gen i3 1.2ghz
If anyone has dealt with this or knows the exact drivers to install to fix all of this, I’d appreciate your help.
