May 20, 2019 - We have a 3050 SFF that when the power button is pressed the LED flashes orange 3 times followed by 6 white flashes We also have a 3050 MFF that when the power button is pressed the LED flashes orange 2 times followed by 7 white flashes. We have reseated everything that can be reseted but to no avail. Any ideas? ... The chart does not show just 2 flashes. White is a "low power state and not always a fault condition. June 20, 2019 - I have Dell Optiplex 3050 ,suddenly the PC going into sleep mode and doesn't start at all just the orange led blink every 2 times and stop this goes on till I unplug all the cable even power and hard press the power button for 10- 20 second and plug the power and start the PC but it again started to blink the orange led after try 3 to 4 times same step I started to replace the power supply with another one but no use after waiting for 30 minutes and plug all the cable again at last its give me a error code 2000-0173.

My Dell Optiplex 3050 is blinking twice in an amber pattern, lasting a few seconds before blinking once more.

Do I need a professional to look at this or is there any way I can solve this?

if psu does not have a BIST button, Turn off the system. Disconnect the power cord from the PSU, and wait for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, connect the power cord back to the PSU. The LED light should stay on for 3 seconds and then turn off. If the BIST LED lights up, then the power supply can deliver power to the system but something else is impeding the POST process. The next step is to check whether the power button might be at fault. unplug pwr sw cable from motherboard pin header. short the motherboard pwr sw pins temporarily using a flat head screwdriver to see if that can turn it on. If it's not you should go to the No POST troubleshooting.

Hi all

Over the past year at two of our locations, we've had several OptiPlex 3040 / 3050 Micros suffer from random power off and power up issues.

For example, one system that has been running fine since deployment a few years ago suddenly started powering off whilst the user was working without warning, and when the user attempted to power the micro tower back on, just received 1 then 2 amber flashes on the power button, followed by the led then going white then nothing.

Randomly, it could be 5 minutes or 4 hours later, the system will power back up on it's own and boot up from cold to the login screen.

I've carried out the following troubleshooting steps:

Checked event logs, nothing noted.
Ran Dell Command update to ensure everything is up to date.
Replaced the CMOS battery and reset BIOS to factory defaults.
Disabled Sleep state within BIOS.
Replaced PSU (They use Dell 19v laptop PSUs).
Replaced Display Port cable with Genuine Dell DP cable (I'm aware of a possible Pin 20 issue).

These are all i3 or i5 6th or 7th Gen's with SSDs and running Win 10 Pro.

I know these are 3 - 4 years old, but they are used just for E-Mail and RemoteApp.

Any feedback or thoughts appreciated.
