Hi @freshcoconut29 · Try a full power refresh and check if that fixes it. · Turn off the PC (if it is on) and disconnect the power from the PC. · Open the case and then locate and remove the RTC coin cell battery¹ from the motherboard. · Depending on which model variant you have: · Optiplex 7040M go to p.13 to see what to do. · Optiplex 7040 Mini Tower go to p.21 to see what to do. · Optiplex 7040 SFF the coin cell battery is not mentioned but it can be seen near the blue expansion slot in an image of the systemboard on p.23 · Press and hold the PC Power On button operated for a full 30 seconds and then release it. · Reinsert the RTC coin cell battery (+ve on top as marked on the battery), reassemble the PC, connect power to the PC and check if it turns on OK. · If it does there may be a message stating that the Date and Time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset by the above procedure. Once the Date and Time have been corrected, the message won't appear the next time the PC is started. Also, any user definable BIOS settings that were altered by you to suit whatever system requirements you needed, will have to be charged back again as well. · ¹ When the RTC coin cell battery is out, measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC or if the battery is >4-5 years old, replace it. The battery model number is on the battery e.g. CR2032. Orange light codes , 2-7, "memory modules are detected, but a memory failure". Personally I'd remove and then reinstall your RAM. If that doesn't fix it, the RAM might have failed. More on reddit.com

I'm having a problem with my Dell Optiplex 7040 computer. There's an error where when I plug it in, the PC won't turn on and it shows an orange LED. I've pressed the button on the back of the power supply but nothing happens. However, if I unplug the power supply from the motherboard and press the button on the back of the power supply multiple times, it turns on. Then, when I connect it to the motherboard, the computer turns on normally. But the problem persists; after a few hours with the PC off, the issue comes back. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me resolve this issue.

One of the computer in my lab had similar problem. Here is what you need to do. Unlpug the system from the power. On the back of the power supply there is a black reset button next to PS LED. Hold that down while the system is not connected to the power for 10 seconds. Plug the power cable back on and restart the system.

I had the same problem with my Dell Optiplex 7010, power button was flashing orange. Here is how to fix the issue: 1). Turn off the computer. 2). Unplug the power & remove the computer case. 3). The Dell Optiplex 7010 has four memory slots, remove the memory, and switch slots. 4). Replace computer case and then reattach power plug. 5). Start computer! That is it, a very simple fix! Please Remember to drain the Flea Power before removing the memory -
