Where are you getting the DVD/CD driver missing error?
I’d download this, extract it, and throw every piece of hardware that’s missing a driver at it:
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/12244.optiplex-3050-windows-7-driver-pack
It contains Windows 7 drivers for every hardware configuration that the Optiplex 7050 is sold with.
The Opti7040 thread was very helpful to me in my progress through this problem, but not sufficient for me to get through.
Solved Problems:
- USB 3 only: injected an even newer version of Intel USB 3 Drivers
- UEFI Secure Boot: In Bios, disabled secure boot & enabled Legacy ROMs.
Remaining Problem?
- 256GB NVMe Toshiba SSD (M2 PCIe, THNSN5256GPUK)
MS KB 2990941 - the windows NVMe driver did improve the situation, as did the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.
But now, I get a required DVD/CD driver missing error. Not that this computer has a DVD/CD drive… I can actually browse the contents of the SSD, but it still will not let me continue.
