I keep seeing posts in various places from as early as January of this year up to this month where the Dell OS Recovery Tool simply doesn't work, and gives a "Unable to connect to back end" error when attempting to download and make a recovery USB.
Is there a workaround out there at all? Alternatively, Does anyone happen to have an Alienware I7 R5 Windows 10 Pro USB recovery image I could use?
Even if someone could give me a directory listing of the 2 partitions on the GPT USB that gets made (partition AWRESTOR, and MEDIA) I could probably get it working with some reverse engineering.
I need to reset this laptop, its a Dell Pro 16 PC16250 and when i try using the Dell OS Recovery Tool it keeps saying it cant connect in the backend. I am hardwired and i know I have internet working because i am able to post and stream with no issues. I even tried disabling the UEFI and run the win11 ISO from microsoft but that isnt working either. anyone can help me please!
SupportAssist OS Recovery has always worked in the past for and last time I used it was 2-3 weeks ago. But now I can’t use it since I get the above error. Any idea how to fix it?
I am trying to factory reset.
