Hi everyone, I'm normally a Mac user (I'm sorry), but my company recently decided to switch me to a PC. I'm a designer and video editor for my company, so I at least got a very high-end machine. They ordered me the Precision 5530 with the P2000 graphics processor in it.
I was looking forward to it, however, upon receipt, it works like a heap of hot garbage. I feel like I'm constantly operating at about 15 fps on anything I do (even just using outlook, skype, and a web browser seems to bog it down... don't even get me started on opening up anything from the adobe suite). I'm going from the laptop to a dock unit (K16A), then to a single dell monitor (I would like to use 2, but as it stands, this thing struggles to even run this one and the laptop screen at the same time). I've done some digging and from what I can see, it's not even using the Nvideo GPU for anything! Despite going into the Nvidia Control Panel and setting that card as the preferred GPU globally.
Desktop Windows Manager (dwm.exe) is eating up a TON of GPU-0 (the intel integrated GPU), even just moving a window around the screen (and causing frame drop).
I also checked the PhysX settings (I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what that is), but it doesn't look like I can change it to let the Nvidia card control the display.

I've heard people say, "Oh, yeah, it is just going to run like that. All Mac users who come over to windows say they don't like it and that the movement of things isn't smooth." I, first of all, call BS on that! Second, I pushed and pushed enough to get the computer serviced by Dell Support, and they said they replaced the Main Logic Board, however, I just got it back today and am having the exact same problems I was before.
Does anybody have any idea what in the world is going on here and why this (what on paper should be phenomenal) laptop can't seem to perform basic tasks?
