Dell Precision Rack 7920
Dell 7920 rack workstation for Lightroom and Premiere: make it quiet for desktop, or remote access from basement?
Dell Precision 7920 Rack noise level vs the old R5500?
Anyone ever convert a Dell Precision 7920 Workstation tower to rack mount?

I just bought a rack version of Dell's 7920 workstation, because it was a great deal cheaper than the tower version. It seems like the rack is a loud beast, meant to be hidden away. I'm going to be using it for one person to do Premiere editing and encoding and lightroom work.
I'd like to to put it on my desktop so I can access all it's ports and throw quiet noctua fans in it, but unsure whether I can install those fans into what is basically a server, and have them be controlled properly.
Alternately, I could remote access into the system, using RDP or PCoIP. RDP would be free, PCoIP would require me to purchase a client and host card. Could RDP over a local network support 4k? Could PCoIP? And could either deliver it without any compression? Would a zero client allow me to connect a USB DAC and custom lightroom keyboard in addition to a regular keyboard and mouse?
My Dell Precision R5500 workstations are starting to get a bit dated for my video encoding needs. Was thinking of getting a 7920 if I can keep the costs down, however I know the R5500’s are decently low noise at idle and even when video encoding. Can’t find any specs on decibel levels. Does anyone know where I can get dB level info between the R5500 and the 7920 Rack or know if they are similar? I was thinking about the 3920 or whatever it is as a 1U unit but going to guess it will be more noisy with those smaller fans.
No personal experience with that model, but I found this article that says it idles around 65dB:

Dell packs a lot of power into its latest rack-mount workstation..
I wouldn’t go with the 1U model if noise is a concern because, as you said, the smaller fans will be a lot louder.
