The 7330 has lockable latches, gaskets and solid doors for all ports.  The latches also slightly stick out.  The 5430 uses rubber covers for all its I/O, it is not as robust as the 7330. Rainfall on the 5430 I would imagine should be alright, but do make sure the covers are properly secured.  I do not know about Dell specifically, but Panasonic Toughbook testing involved using jets of water on their fully rugged clamshell laptops for many hours. I have seen the 5430 in person and own the 7330.  The memory is upgradable only in the 5430, but the entire system will need to be dismantled to get to the slots. Edit:  was not aware Dell made new models, but the same applies except maybe the RAM location on the 14. More on reddit.com

I have the 5424 and it’s served me well for cable runs and general on-site work. Definitely had its fair share of abuse and is still rocking. Personally, I would recommend getting an older one due to the price depreciation if you don’t need the additional horsepower (8th gen or higher, compatible with windows 11). They are heavy, as they should be, but will outlive most other laptops. Comes with a go handle 😀 More on reddit.com
