Only insert/remove the Rescue disk while the power if off, or with a proper Insert/Eject procedure inside Windows. I can't really comment on recent Support Assist on Windows-11 as I don't use it (and haven't for many years). I also don't use Dell/Alienware Update or any of the other Dell programs. r/Dell on Reddit: Support Assist Remediation piggyback installs off other apps? ?
June 20, 2019 -

I own a new Dell XPS8930 SE. Like other people I got rid of all the OEM "bloatware"

Then I thought in my case, it might be best to leave Support Assist installed until my system is out of warranty. So

I re-installed it. Fine, no big deal. After a month I thought even though I keep a bootable ISO on a flash, that might not save the day if it vanished and I couldn't install Windows. So maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the system's OS recovery environment up to date with the latest version of SupportAssist OS Recovery.

That required re-installing another app called Dell Update-Support Assist Update Plug-In. OK, so I re-installed it. Then I find out updates for this Plug In are delivered through Dell Update so once again another re-install and this time it's Dell Update.

After re-installingthese last two, this thing called Support Assist Remediation installs by itself a day later.

It looks like it piggybacked from one of these two. Now I don't know how to send SA Remediation away and keep Dell Support Assist OS recovery up to date. Anyone have an idea how to un-install this and keep it removed ?

3 Apps were re-installed: Support Assist, Dell Update-Support Assist Update Plug-in, and Dell Update

Dell Inspiron 5570 - Dell SupportAssist not updating

Hi,

Could you try connecting a different network and check if it gets installed?

If the same issue continues, please follow the steps below and let me know if Support Assist works:

  1. Uninstall Support Assist and Support Assist remediation from control panel> programs and features. Restart the system.

  2. Download and install Support Assist from the link below: https://dell.to/3gOyhiD

  3. Restart the system and check if it works.

You can also share the Service tag of the system via a private message so that I can get back to you.

-Gautam.

Just uninstall Dell SupportAssist, Dell Update, SupportAssist Remediation Service etc on the Windows Add/Remove screen. Or, if you still want SupportAssist v3.13, download/install it from here. SupportAssist that came installed on this new laptop (not sure what version of SupportAssist) wouldn't run either and seems to have been an issue with Microsoft's .Net Framework. I downloaded v3.13 and it's working...so far...

Dell SupportAssist Remediation is a software tool provided by Dell to help diagnose and resolve issues with your Dell computer. If you wish to uninstall it, you can follow these steps: Option 1: Uninstall via Windows Settings Press Windows Key + I to open the Windows Settings. Click on 'Apps' or 'Apps & Features' depending on your Windows version. In the list of installed applications, locate 'Dell SupportAssist Remediation' or similar Dell SupportAssist components. Click on it to select it. Click the 'Uninstall' button. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation process. Option 2: Uninstall via Control Panel (for older Windows versions) If you're using an older version of Windows that doesn't have the Settings app, you can use the Control Panel: Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog. Type 'control' and press Enter to open the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, select 'Programs' or 'Programs and Features' (the wording may vary depending on your Windows version). Find 'Dell SupportAssist Remediation' or any related Dell SupportAssist programs in the list of installed programs. Click on it to select it. Click the 'Uninstall' button. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation. After completing either of these methods, Dell SupportAssist Remediation should be removed from your system. Make sure to restart your computer if prompted to do so after the uninstallation process is finished. Please note that if you're using Dell SupportAssist as part of Dell's comprehensive support suite and you're having issues with it, you might consider contacting Dell support for assistance with troubleshooting or resolving any problems you're experiencing. Uninstalling Dell SupportAssist Remediation should only be done if you're certain you no longer want it on your system.

We would like to unistall this 'tool' via software deployment system. Is there a way to unistall it unattended for all different version? Maybe Dell or a User has a script for this?

Can I delete a Dell support assist remediation? - Quora
Answer (1 of 5): Yes. When I setup a new computer, I will do one of two things: 1) delete almost all the crapola “support” manufacturers put on the new pcs or 2) install a fresh copy of Windows on the computer and only install the chipset and drivers from the manufacturers’ website.
