Water has started leaking out of my shower handle. You can see it here in this picture. I would like to replace the cartridge but I can't get the handle off. https://i.imgur.com/Icq2PCx.jpeg
I removed the skinny portion of the lever and found the set screw behind it. This diagram appears to be my shower handle or one very similar. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/42489RevB.pdf
After I removed the set screw I cannot slide the rest of the handle assembly off. I've tried rocking side to side and up and down. Is there a step I'm missing or do I need to spray it with PB blaster and wait?

I’m just probing this subreddit because I can’t seem to find any videos or articles online. But I really hate this dual handle shower lever - and couldn’t care less about controlling the water pressure. I want to replace it with just a standard delta shower lever.
I’m researching the current model, and the tear down looks completely different than the delta lever I replaced in my other shower. Before I start taking it apart - I just wanted to make sure this was even possible? Or is the pipe/valve only compatible with this type of lever system?

You can replace the cartridge and then use a new trim kit. Not sure why you want to change it. This is a great set up. Leave temp alone and just turn it off or on and you are at the same temp as before.

Depends on the rough in body. If it's pre-2006, you're stuck with the dual control. If it's the post-2006 universal body, you can pick up a T13220 trim kit and convert the entire valve over. If the front of your cartridge is white, it's the older model and you're stuck with what you have. If it's dark grey, you can convert it to the single handle.

I bought a 5/32" titanium drill bit and a drill bit extension so that the drill would have enough clearance over the shower handle. I drilled out the set screw and couldn't pull the handle off because the handle was apparently rusted onto the filter. Then I continued drilling until I went through the gold colored stem of the filter.
