If you want to avoid creepiness, given that context, the number one thing I would avoid is beauty descriptions that relate to fertility. I would try to focus on what specific parts of her are the most beautiful and why they seem that way. What relation is she to the viewpoint character, the one seeing her? That will affect what's appropriate to dwell on as beautiful. Answer from thenotoriouspuk on reddit.com

The most accurate vision for what this character looks like would be:

just mention that she was attractive? everyone finds different features attractive so its less effective if you describe her appearance in detail.

Okay, think of a really beautiful woman you once met, now try and recall what she looks like exactly? Now try and describe that? You're probably struggling and thats because peoples power of recall is actually pretty poor and because when we meet people we really only notice a couple of defining facial or physical features and leave it at that. I can sort of recall what this girl I had a crush on for years looked like, but in hindsight I only ever really remember her eyes, and totally ignore that her two top front teeth where on the buckish side, that she had a terrible slouch, and scowled a lot. I don't think the physical description is all that important, a general description of the character unveiled over time during the course of the story, including simple things like height, shape, hair colour, and whatever defining features strike the admirer. Really, in my view, it's how the admirer feels, what they think, their desires, motives, and actions, and how that inter-subjectively constructs the other character in my mind of the reader that is important since thats very much more of the story. Edit: Specific to this face, full lips, defined jaw line, average sized eyes, short eye lashes, strong nose (Rounded at the end), wavy hair with an off centre part...

r/writing on Reddit: How to describe a woman’s beauty without falling into the male gaze or it being creepy?
August 6, 2023 -
I’m wanting to show that this woman is beautiful in a land that is rotten. I want to describe her in a way that is vivid(maybe) but doesn’t fall into the trap of the male gaze or comes off as a bit creepy.
Thanks for any help!

Don't compare her to other women. Don't describe the size of her chest and the way it moves. No backhanded compliments (ie "despite her age..").

June 30, 2023 - As for the young woman, she seemed to be dancing within this beautiful image, leading to everyone seeing her becoming lost in a reverie. All eyes were gathered onto her. January 17, 2024 - I don't get into too much detail when describing a face. Maybe one or two things, including the eyes. I recall reading that the only descriptor of Anna Karenina that Tolstoy gave was to write that "she was a beautiful woman." Everyone knows what a beautiful woman looks like, and then the reader can call upon their imagination to picture that beautiful woman how they want to.

February 6, 2025 - Arguably, you can define the whole face – including the shadows created by the cheeks and jawline – as a structure that presents the eyes to the world. Humans connect with their eyes, eye contact is key to our interactions, and therefore, a lot of what makes a face beautiful is how it allows the eyes to dominate the face by carefully framing them with the eyebrows and highlighting them from beneath with catch lights developed by projecting the cheeks.
