I did a deep dive on belts on here's how I found things. First you have super cheap belts you'd find on a rack at any store. Plasticky leather, will look nice for a bit but then degrade. Then there's "designer" belts - priced MUCH higher but only slightly better materials. Neiman's, etc, any designer brand that doesn't focus on leather goods will have a $200-500 "genuine leather" belt to sell you. Then there's nicer belts that r/buyitforlife would recommend. Popov leather, Hank's, 1,000 stores on etsy will sell you a nice basic full grain leather belt for $100 or a bit less. I've bought these before but a lot of them are very thick and might not work with all outfits, but will definitely last a long time. I've ended up buying from belts.com and they have full grain leather at a cheaper price. Finishing is not great (edges are not burnished and leather is a bit "fuzzy") but it's not a bad thing for me. Thinner and more comfortable than Popov or Hank's belts with more options. Answer from DrSpaceman575 on reddit.com

You’ve got the pants, now all you need is a designer belt. Gucci melds Italian excellence with archival emblems with Double G belts, while Versace styles boast gilded Medusa Heads in honor of Gianni Versace’s muse.

Buying my first designer belt. Which should I get? Thanks :)
Ferragamo! If that’s the version that’s reversible, then that was my first designer belt. More bang for your buck when it’s reversible! I believe the Hermes one is also reversible but I personally like that the ferragamo belt isn’t a letter (unless you name starts with H!) and I think it’s slightly narrower, which I prefer. Are the belts worth it for the quality? I know belts like LV and Gucci overpriced their lether from what I heard they overcharge their belts with $10 quality.
I mean most designer belts are similar quality, but yeah the leather is pretty standard I say if u really like the design of the belt then the price is justified More on reddit.com

Nordstrom makes a great black/brown reversible belt. Great deal at $50.

I'm also a fan of the BOSS belts, which run about $85 - 120. I tried a Perry Ellis belt from Macy's once but the quality SUCKED.

Also, if you can catch them in stock at your local Costco, the Kirkland Signature brand belts are amazing. Way better than Nordstrom and BOSS, and they're only $20.

Costco belt: would be surprised if it did not perform well above its price point.
Belts that really suck are hard leather; made from reconstituted leather chips, i.e. almost cardboard (they call it "bonded"); and split-grain (half the piece of leather). And all are available in $50+ flavors.
Maybe the guys here have found success with belts of a single piece of leather, if the leather is nice enough. For me, belts like this deform at the back center much more severely and don't have a great presentation around the holes. Net effect is too casual for me.
