Computer desks used to be actual DESKS
Looking For a Well Made Computer Desk
Does anyone have any good desk suggestions?
Many would encourage you to first look at the ergonomics of the situation to enhance your comfort and help avoid the potential for long term pain / injury. For example, once you are properly seated, at which distance to the floor are your forearms and wrists roughly parallel to the floor (28", 30", 32", etc.)? This will help you determine the best height of your new desk. Make sure to account for things that would alter this height such as underdesk mounted keyboard trays. Something like the https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/bekant-desk-white-s19006323/ gives you the ability to adjust the height to better match what's best for you. Additionally, consider surface / frame materials (will you want to drill into it to run wires or mount things like monitor arms, if so you'll likely want to avoid glass tops). Finally, calculate the size of your new space, the required room for your hardware (where does your PC go, where / how will you place your monitor), and any expansion plans (like a second or third monitor). Best wishes in this!

Not this piece of wood on 4 legs that passes for a "desk" today. IMO, a desk has to have drawers and be more than 18 inches deep. Anything less is just a table.
