You are looking for a Universal Hose Adapter that can be purchased at most hardware and tool suppliers (big box stores like Home Deport will also carry them).
They look like this picture.
You would purchase a 1.5" adapter and then cut off the sections until you reach the smaller size.
I've found that these do not fit tightly. You will need to use hose clamps to secure it, but try it first. Sometimes when the vac is running it's enough vacuum to hold them together firmly.

Lemme tell ya... DeWalt's connectors are a nightmare. To connect their sander to their 9gal shop vac you need at least *two* of their "universal" connectors. I ended up just going to Lowes, getting a rubber connector (I forgot the size, but they're not the same on both ends) and then two metal band clamps. Works great and costs a few bucks. For the table saw I ended up overpaying for someone in (probably China) on amazon for something similar. Fits perfectly though and no need for a clamp. More on reddit.com

November 9, 2023New to wood working. Is there some sort of universal adapter for dewalt sanders and saws to hook up to a shop vac?
Three options: - Their "universal" adapter DWV9000 threads onto an 1 1/4" vacuum hose, which is the size of hose you find on small wet/dry vacs. You will need to remove the cuff that comes installed on the end of the hose to thread this on (reverse thread, righty loosey lefty tighty). - A medium sized vac with an 1 7/8" hose will work with the NA130835 adapter. It does not lock on like the DWV9000, but rather a friction fit on both ends (hose cuff and tool). - A large vac with a 2 1/2" hose will also work with the aforementioned NA130835 adapter OR a combination of the DWV9000 and DWV9190 . The DWV9000 will thread onto the DWV9190, and then the DWV9190 will friction fit over the hose cuff. More on reddit.com

Another solution is to put a hood or box with a fitting for your hose behind the saw. If you really want to do a good job set up the table the saw sits upon as a down-draft style table as well, because not all the dust is thrown back, some is thrown downward off the edge of the blade closest to the operator. To do both you'd probably need a legit dust collector machine, as your shop-vac likely won't support collection at both points.

December 19, 2022 - This will keep your vac filter from clogging anyways. You can attach your 1 7/8 hose to the inlet of the cyclonic separator, and then run a 2 1/2 hose from the separator to your tool. You can then use the DWV9120 adapter and attach the DWV9000 to said adapter. It is the best way to attach that fitting in your hand to a 1 7/8 hose, imo. What attachments do I need to connect DeWalt 501 Vacuum to tools with dust ports?

One end will fit the vacuum, the other has a multi-connector that you can just buy the appropriate connectors for it for each tool (if you have multiple different hose receivers on each tool). You can even get the hose ends themselves as a kit on their own if you just want to retrofit the system onto a hose you already have.
