A few weeks ago I was buying something online and found the company only shipped via DHL. Having experienced the dreadfulness DHL in the past where I had to drive to Burnaby to pick up my package even though I was home that day, I decided to ship to another location where I can guarantee someone will be there to pick up the package.

A week later and I received a text from the tracking info saying that my package will arrive today. Although being excited for my package, I had lingering feeling. No way I can miss the package right? Boy was I wrong. Approximately an hour later, I received this text https://imgur.com/a/pVZcMBZ .

There was no way I missed the package! In the text message it said there was no one home. However the location wasn't even a house. It was a effing hotel with 24/7 front desk and CCTV's everywhere! The guy never showed up at all!

I was infuriated. I whipped out my phone and contacted customer support. Here is the conversation. https://imgur.com/a/Nc9o6mW . After the convo, all I could do was wait till tomorrow.

The next day my package arrived. Thank goodness.... I also noticed there was one extra package that had arrived. I opened it up and this is what I received https://imgur.com/a/JbtxFmr . Thanks Kacy.

I was shook because I have read so many bad reviews online about DHL and never have I expected I would receive an apology in person.

What was everyone else's experience with DHL?

TLDR: Bought an item online. Item was shipped via DHL. Received message that package could not be delivered because no one was home. It was not a house, but a hotel with 24/7 front desk. Guy never showed up. Contacted customer support and got package the next day with an apology letter and a gift basket.
