April 5, 2020 - I use it for dressing both HSS and carbide tooling. It doesn't cut as aggressively as a new disk but it still cuts. I have a number of the smaller disks for Dremel type tools and they definitely don't last ... Look for "diamond rotary grinding wheel" instead of cutting wheel.

November 9, 2024 - Many just call them "Plate mounted grinding wheels". I believe the actual industry designation is a "Type 50". Common dimensions are 6 inch diameter x 1-1/4 inch. I picked up three grinders when Harbor Freight was closing them out and set them up with Silicon Carbide, Aluminum Oxide, and Diamond wheels so I don,t have to swap them.

I’ve been a metal fabricator for about 10 years, I’ve been using angle grinders for 18+ years. I bought a 5 pack of brand new cut off wheels from harbor freight. Started to cut 1/4 angle iron with a 13000rpm dewalt grinder with the guard attached (no handle though) the first disk exploded after 1.5 mins of grinding so I put a whole new disk on it. Not even 20 seconds later I was laying on the ground with blood shooting 7 feet away from my body. The second disk got jammed in the metal, blew the disk up and threw it right into my femoral artery on the inside of my knee. Passed out within a minute and barely made it. I love harbor freight prices but the difference you pay doesn’t account for the price of your life. I will never use another 4 1/2 warrior cut off wheel ever again

August 27, 2014 - Their diamond coverage is just fine though. I think they come from Hong Kong. He can supply ANY grit you want,though he only lists a few on Ebay.(last time I looked). I can't recall his name. Good to do business with,though. I had a HF grinder at work,and have a Bridgewood at home. Both are REVERSIBLE. Don't buy a grinder that is not. One thing I did to both grinders is to remove their wheels.

Bauer appreciation post. Went through a layer of paint and epoxy no problem. $20 for the 7 amp grinder on sale and $30 for the 4.5" diamond wheel is hard to beat. Took probably 4 hours total.
