Thoughts on them? While yes they are poly/cotton, they last a long time/good quality and has that association. Really the only downside is the poly-cotton blend. I mean, they fit my style better, the pleats are cool and the loose fit is better for my body. Not to mention that they’re pretty cheap.

Very classic work brand. Polyester is helpful in work situations for durability purposes (excepting denim), and while I normally shed silent tears about poly blends in non-work clothing, blends are fine for on the job. I had my share of blue collar work, and I tried to be classic/professional there too, going for collared shirts and such when possible. My father took pride in his work and always left the house looking good even while he came home looking like he worked! For casual wear, Dickies can be broken in over time, but they will never be as soft and comfortable as anything made from natural fibers. An exception in the workwear world would be Reed Manufacturing, and they make work pants that, well, try on a pair. They are definitely affordable, them Dickies. At 20 a pair (and formerly much cheaper, which is why they became a mainstay of some urban street wear especially in Los Angeles), I usually saw them on some of my other working class friends in our rather economically diverse prep school. I probably would have been wearing them too, but the old man said there was something to be said for wearing your Sunday best during an ordinary day, so he always made sure I had Dockers or Land's End or some such. I consider Dickies to be good workwear and a cheap way to look a step neater than rocking the ripped jeans and graphic t-shirt look. I would say they look a bit out of place in a NB setting. Pair a set of Dickies khaki work pants with a plaid flannel shirt and you get what is known from my ancestral homeland as a "Mattawa tuxedo" (grin), which still looks way more put together than half the people out there these days. I'd rather pair my Savanes with a blazer, however.

I wear them all the time. 874s are probably my favorite chinos. I wear them with tailoring mostly. They are high waisted and really flattering imo.

I started getting into Dickies 874 as I changed my style because I like how clean they look and the colorways they come in, but I’m having an issue with the fit.
I see other people wearing them like these pictures, and they fit exactly how I’d like them too, but when I get them, they fit like the sizing guide above.
Are these people just randomly lying about the style dickies they’re getting or am I going insane? I hav size up, but I understand that’s the norm.
Is it a quality control issue or are there different, also high waisted cuts I can get? The 873/2 are not high waisted. If not dickies does anyone have suggestions on similar quality/cut?

might be your build. im shorter and have a pretty big butt / bigger waist so 874’s kind of suffocate me and also dont really look right its kind of odd

i actually sized up 2 sizes (wearing a 32 x 32) and i usually wear a 30x32 and this is how they look on me. i honestly don’t know if that’s the fit you’re looking for, or how they fit you but hope it helps!
