So I've been looking around online and in stores, and the 507's seem to be nowhere (other than eBay), not even Levi's website. I'm assuming they've been discontinued, though I can't find any concrete answer. The 507's fit me perfectly and I'm about to buy a pair of Clarks so I wanted to pick up a few more slim boot cut jeans.

So my question is, to people who have worn/know about 507's: Are the 517's a viable alternative/substitute? Maybe they just changed the numbers and they're the same exact pair? Any help would be great, thanks guys!

I'm a noob at this and don't have the money for a high end pair, but I needed some new jeans and tried to find something that could potentially work. These were old stock at Cavenders (a Western store chain in Atlanta), so I'm not sure what the waah was was called. But they're not the current "rinse" offering Levi's has

I didn't soak these so I'm kinda worried they're going to shrink a lot. We'll see. Has anyone faded these before? Any tips?

Great find! They are my fave Levi's model. Those are raw denim bootcut 517s, and they are made with a 14oz denim, whereas the STF 501 unsanforized denim feels more like a 13oz denim after being fully shrunk down. And they will fade great, even better than STF raw denim 501s IMO. Levi's colorway name for your 517s are "Rigid", which means raw denim. The model number, Levi's PC9 (9-digit Product Code) on the care tag inside, should say "00517-0217", where the "0217" stands for the "Rigid" wash, but they aren't washed yet by you or by Levi's, so not really a wash at all. They are sanforized, so they will shrink when finally washed, about 1" in the waist (which should stretch back out some) and about 1" in the inseam if washed/dried like normies do. They will shrink much less if hand-washed in cold water and hung to dry. They are still sold at many western wear stores, such as Cavender's, and at Amazon too still , but with a higher price these days.

Looking good for two weeks! 517 is a sanforized cut so they won’t shrink. Just keep on wearing and wash when dirty and they will look amazing in no time.

I'm looking to get a pair of 517s. Since they're not available in my country, I need to test my luck and order online. I'm confused, however, since these 2 pairs seem to be exactly the same except they're named differently (ex. black vs welcome to the rodeo).

That said, is the color all there is to it? To illustrate, there are pairs where the color is evidently different (dark wash vs old western roads). Though for some pairs like the black one, I think it's just the back pocket which differs.

I'm also even more confused since they have different style numbers and one is just around USD70 while the other is USD98.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
