I recently added the M12 Fuel 90 degree die grinder to my collection. I bought it to replace a Dremel I have been using for years. Just curious what brand bits everyone is using. I'd like to get a multi pack of various bits if possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

I agree with Rolocs. I use the 2" flap wheels and like them more on this 90⁰ than a 4.5" angle grinder. Not sure if it's because the tool is lighter so I apply less pressure, but they kick butt and seem to last about the same or longer. I mainly use them for cleaning up mill slag before welding.

Pro, Do you have an electric angle grinder, in say, a 4 1/2" size. It's a 1-minute job with an angle grinder if it's just a "keep put" bead with minimal penetration. I wouldn't use a die grinder except by last resort.

Hey folks. Looking for a set of die grinder bits to speed up post processing. These bits will be used for removing z seams only with fine tuning and shaping done with files. Can any one suggest a good set of bits for this?

With some experience i can say that most rotary tool options will cause, at least pla, to melt near instantaneously. Ive experimented a bit and found that careful application of a wire brush attachment will work but the best result ive had is with a flap sanding attachment, they move a lot of air which will prevent overheating/melting unless pressing down a lot.

Some decent carbide rotary burrs (diamond cut or double cut geometries) made by a machine tool company like Garr, Harvey Tool, Micro 100, Kennametal, Iscar, Widia, Norton Abrasives, etc. You tend to get what you pay for with items like these. A dremel isn't ideal because the RPM is too low and has poor parts clearance beceuse of the casing. A tool that'll help you suceed is a pneumatic "pencil grinder" that use 1/8" shaft tooling. Something like the $30 Harbor Freight 1/8" pneumatic grinder (SKU 60244, 47869, 69745) will get you 56,000 RPM. I'm sure there are some Amazon and similar equivalent imports, but the caveat is you need an air compressor that'll do the required CFMs. I've deflashed printed parts and other various themo set/form plastics and composites with a 65k RPM Dotco or 85k ARO turbine grinder without issue. The higher RPMs mean higher surface footage and it improves finish and reduce frictional transfer of heat into the part that can cause melting. The heat tends to stay (and gets carried off) in the swarf. Dental grinders for example spin at over 100k RPM.
