Hello! I'm looking to get a Dyson V11, but there's quite a variety of models and naming for this vacuum. I've seen V11 Absolute Pro, Animal, Torque, Outside, and then V11h and V11b. I was wondering what the difference is for all of these?

Past that, is it easy to replace the battery? Some models seem to have a quick release battery, while others require multiple screws to be removed.

The display is the only difference. My animal has a normal display where the torque drive has the lcd screen and one extra attachment. The animal was $100 cheaper not having the lcd screen and I’m fine with that.

Is the + just the EU name of the US product?
Is there an actual difference between the two?

Animal+ has the LCD display, but not the High Torque floorhead that enables AUTO mode. So it's a choice between AUTO mode or having the LCD display. It doesn't sell that well in the BENELUX due to being only 50 euros cheaper than the Absolute which gets the High Torque and soft roller cleaning heads and the fact that homes in this region tend to be mostly hard floors.

If you were in the US, the Animal+ is the Costco version of the V11 Animal so it just comes with more tools, but still with auto mode and no LCD screen

Stick vacuums are decent for quick pickups but not designed to be your only cleaner. The LGA9 and Dyson V8 both are superior to the models you listed in terms of handling and price. If you're looking for a step up and performance the LG is definitely there. However if you do not have a full size vacuum your definitely want to invest in that first. A Miele C1 or Henry compact 160 would do the job for years to come. Hope that helps.

The only key difference between the Dyson V11 Animal Extra and V11 Torque Extra seems to be that the V11 Torque Extra has the new torque drive cleaner head that automatically adjusts suction strength based on the floor, whereas the V11 Animal Extra has the 'direct drive' head that doesn't have this functionality.

The prices of the two are currently the same in my country, the Animal Extra also has the LCD screen now, the Torque Extra comes with one extra accessory, and the Animal Extra has a slightly different air filter.

I ultimately chose the V11 Animal Extra, because the key issue I want to tackle in terms of cleaning is that I have a lot of pet hairs that I want to vacuum. The V11 Animal Extra seems to be marketed more towards pet hairs specifically. I concluded that the Animal Extra seems to be better suited for pet hairs, whereas the Torque Extra might be a bit more versatile due to the new head.

Can anyone confirm that this is correct? Or would I have been better off choosing the Torque Extra? Since the prices were the same, I would suppose that both have their advantages? Or did I settle for an overall worse cleaning head and one accessory less, but paid the same only because of the different filter?

Edit: just spoke to a Dyson rep, and apparently the torque extra has the overall better head. I will probably be swapping the animal extra for the torque extra

I believe both of the v11s have the same torque drive head. My v11 animal does the auto suction adjustment

Hi everyone. Im looking to buy a cordless vacuum but was stuck on which one to decide on. I have looked online and done lots of digging and came across my 2 final options and wanted to know which one would be better. For context, I have high pile carpet and need better suction but couldnt find direct comparison from the V10 Animal and V11. Any suggestions?

My theory is why not get the v11. Dyson doesn't even sell the v10 anymore. The v11 is outright better and they have held onto it as an economical B tier option as it is the only model that has an outsize other than the S tier gen5. They need to continue supporting this tier to maintain loyalty of those who don't want to drop a grand or more on a premium, precision vacuuming instrument. Of course the v10 is nearly as good and you can find all kinds of aftermarket parts for it including batteries! Of course all the attachments still fit and you can use a laser fluffy and all that stuff on a v10 or v11. All up to you. my personal recomendation is to go with the A tier vac (v12 or v15) that fits your home's size, but if the cost is a factor there is nothing wrong at all with the B tier. They are perfectly adequate for doing what you need them to do with the suction and the hepa and all that. If you tell me more about your home, lifestyle, and dirt load, I can give you my personal recommendation if you are interested in comparing that to what you had in mind already.

My v10 keeps causing the battery to fault out. :/

Hi All - in the market for my first Dyson vacuum.

It just boils down to if you want to use generic batteries or dyson's click in battery. Otherwise the v11 is technically better than the v10. after the V-Number, the outsize plus whatever bs just refers to the filters and tool set. a v10 is a v10, but a v10 animal has the motor bar. Just to clarify. you get the v designation to get the vacuum cleaner you want, and everything else (detect, outsize etc.) is just pieces you stick on it. You can get generic tools and aftermarket filters and stuff and "make it" an animal or outsize or whatever. Like I got a dyson OEM fluffy head for my v6 used off ebay and it still works amazingly to this day. Same goes for v8 v10 v11 all that. Just get the vac and you are set. Don't worry too much about what attachments it gives you. The only case where this would matter would be the v12, which apparently comes with more tools than offset the cost of the vacuum. That is if you can find it on sale. The reason being the laser fluffy head and de tangling bar are like $160 each on their own brand new and that alone is nearly the cost of an on sale v12. Sorry for the aside, but it helps bring the point together. So you can like buy a fluffy head for an "animal" model separately from someone else and you can make it the absolute or whatever. Right now there is a smear campaign against dyson. MY EXPERIENCE: I ordered a v15. It came in two days. The free gift came one day later. It works perfectly. I've used it for months with no issues or hiccups because I don't abuse my vacuum cleaner. I wasn't complicated. I didn't order three and expect to return the two I didn't want. In fact after a while, I decided to order one for a friend. I got him a v12. It came in two days. The free tool came three days later. Not one single issue. I taught him now to not abuse his vacuum cleaner. it works great though its still brand new, but as the little brother to the v15, I'm expecting greatness.

The V11 has a lot more suction. It pulled a lot more dirt out of our carpets even after just using the V10. Seems to be a bit more quite to. The new power head also adjust power from hard floors to carpets automatically saving battery life.
