I recently graduated with a degree in marketing, but my job searching it seems that just about everything marketing related is expecting 3-5 years of experience. From listing general marketing experience, to specifics like SEO, various CRM software and things like that.
What types of job listings should I be looking for to yield some results for entry level positions so I can start gaining experience? Are internships the only option?
Hi guys,
I'm almost finished with Google's "Foundations of Digital Marketing and E-commerce" certificate on Coursera. While I've been getting some freelance proposals, they're more like underpaid temp jobs for full-time hours. My goal is to land a stable entry-level position. LinkedIn has given me one promising interview, but the competition seems quite important, and I've encountered some potential scams as well.
Here's my question: Where else should I be looking for entry-level Digital Marketer jobs? Would it be beneficial to directly contact businesses and express interest in working with them?
Before taking the Google course, I actually have experience working on a marketing team as a video marketer. I efficiently produced, edited, and delivered videos for various channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content. Even though I wasn't deeply involved in the digital marketing strategy at the time, I understand the importance of those principles.
I'm currently in a career transition phase. I'm trying to bridge my video production skills with digital marketing, but unfortunately, I'm not seeing many relevant opportunities in my city and country. If things don't improve in the next few weeks, I might need to relocate.
If you guys have any advice on navigating this job search, this would be greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone,
I’m a first-year university student studying marketing and I’m looking to gain hands-on experience in the field. I’m motivated, reliable, and eager to learn — and I’m willing to work for free to build skills and contribute to real projects.
I’m open to anything marketing-related, including:
• Social media management • Content creation (graphics, posts, copywriting) • Market research • Email campaigns • Event promotion • Anything else where I can help and learn
