I dig up dinosaur fossils. I am a Paleontologist. You know, like the song. AMA.
When I was a kid I went through the Dinosaur stage and become obsessed with being a Paleontologist. Everyone had the Dino stage... but then I had a Space/Plane thing and never looked back. Anyways, my question is: how does it compare to the childhood dream of hanging out with freakin' dinosaurs everyday? More on reddit.com

Dinosaur - Wikipedia
1 week ago - They first appeared during the Triassic period, between 243 and 233.23 million years ago (mya), although the exact origin and timing of the evolution of dinosaurs is a subject of active research. They became the dominant terrestrial vertebrates after the Triassic–Jurassic extinction event 201.3 mya and their dominance continued throughout the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The fossil record shows that birds are feathered dinosaurs, having evolved from earlier theropods during the Late Jurassic epoch, and are the only dinosaur lineage known to have survived the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event approximately 66 mya.

September 29, 2020 - Full skeletal mounts of these dinosaurs abound, including a great Corythosaurus, its close relative Lambeosaurus, and possibly the most beautiful Parasaurolophus skeleton in the world. In glass cases below the skeletons are fossil skulls that show the growth patterns in Corythosaurus and Lambeosaurus. It is amazing to see how the crest shape on the skull changed over the course of an animal’s lifetime. The fascinating Parasaurolophus. Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, ON.

November 2, 2021 - It is final resting place for thousands of hadrosaur, tyrannosaur, nodosaur, plesiosaur, and pterosaur fossils. Although, as my five-year-old son Galileo reminds me, plesiosaurs and pterosaurs are not actually dinosaurs; they are marine reptiles that swum and flew during the time of the dinosaurs.

2 days ago - By about 175 million years ago, a group known as Pennaraptora had emerged — the closest known relatives of modern birds and the only dinosaur lineage to survive the mass extinction 66 million years ago. Just as modern ostriches and penguins retain wings without flying, some early feathered dinosaurs may have followed a similar path. Where Dinosaurs Roamed - Fossils and Paleontology (U.S. National Park Service)
Eastern dinosaurs come from the rift valleys of the Late Triassic and Early Jurassic, and coastal areas of the much higher seas of the Cretaceous. We can see this pattern in a map of National Park Service units with dinosaur fossils, which are concentrated in and around the Colorado Plateau (Four Corners states).

Toronto’s fossil hunters are unearthing the history of the city - The Globe and Mail
October 5, 2023 - Paleontologists are reasonably confident that dinosaurs roamed Southern Ontario but in their time the land was too hard to produce fossils. Fossilization requires soft, sedimentary rock so minerals trapped in soil can gradually seep into organic matter and turn them into stone.
