How did Tyrannosaurus rex hunt?
Scientists note that Tyrannosaurus rex could have been able to run 32 km (20 miles) per hour over short distances, which is fast enough to chase down prey. Once close enough, it could bite down and through the skulls, pelvises, and limbs of other dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus rex also may have been a scavenger, and some scientists suggest that bite marks found on the bones of other members of the species could be evidence of cannibalism.

Fossilguy.com: Types of Tyrannosaur Dinosaurs and Origins of T. Rex
This Tyrannosaur is intriguing in that paleontologists thought that at 80 million years old, this primitive Tyrannosaur would not have all the features of a more recent Tyrannosaur, like T. rex. However Lythronax was found to still have the short and wide skull, robust teeth, foreword facing eyes, and the typical stubby arms. These Tyrannosaur features must have evolved even earlier than 80 million years ago. Image credit: A Stranger in the Alps Via CC3 License. The next Tyrannosaur to arrive on the scene is Daspletosaurus torosus. This Tyrannosaur was found in 77 to 74 million year old sediments in the Dinosaur Park formation of Alberta, which was in Northern Laramidia.

r/Dinosaurs on Reddit: Day 1 of creating common names for dinosaurs (T-rex)
May 10, 2023 -

Somebody about a month ago made a post asking what common names would we have given to some ancient birds if they were still alive today. I always wondered this for non-avian Dinosaurs too, so I think it would be a fun community activity to go through as many dinosaurs as we can and create some common names for them (Maybe I'll poll the most popular ones). They do not have to be in English (for example on the ancient bird post, someone gave Archaeopteryx a German name since that is where it would be living today).

So lets begin with none other than the Tyrant King himself. I'll go first and put out "North American Great Jaw"
