Chase Bank misleading wire transfer fees
It clearly states what the wire fees are and what the benefits of your account are, and free wires are not included unless you are a service member and even then the fine print says you may see a fee as a result of a charge from another institution. I have the same account. More on reddit.com

1 week ago - If you want to transfer from an external bank account into your savings, you should request to link the accounts. This process might take a few days to complete and is typically done through a series of small automated clearing house (ACH) deposits that you’ll confirm. Future transfers between financial institutions might take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of business days, depending on the accounts. r/discover on Reddit: How long for wire transfers?
October 17, 2023 -

From my discover savings account, I wired a decent five figure transfer to my wife. I ordered the wire late last night so I get that nothing would happen until today.

As of right now (4:41 EST), the money left my account but my wife has not received it. I got an email from discover this morning that it was processing and to be on the look out for a tracking number “once the wire transfer is completed on Discover’s end”.

I don’t usually wire money so I’m a bit paranoid. Everything looking normal? Or should I call discover or have my wife call her bank (not discover)?

I’m prob overreacting as I thought wires were within an hour or so during business hours, but wanted to see if y’all had some insight.

r/personalfinance on Reddit: Any issues with receiving international wire transfers into Discover Savings Account?
December 13, 2022 -

Hey all!

My parents from India often send me money in the US via wire transfers. I have a checking account with Bank of America and it works flawlessly but they charge a $15 per wire transfer.

However, Discover doesn't charge fees on incoming wire transfers. I have a savings account (+credit card) with Discover, but I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with Discover. Me personally, I have not had any issues with my Discover account, but I have never tried wire transfers with them.

Can international wire transfers be received into a savings account? My parents send money in USD so I think it should be fine.

Wires into Discover are processed through Bank of NY Mellon. Does this intermediary bank charge any fees?

Does Bank of America's incoming international wires get processed through Bank of NY Mellon? I can't find any information related to this, but my assumption would be no since BoA is a large US bank.

For what it's worth, I'm talking about dollar amounts between $8,000 - $15,000 per transfer.
