From my discover savings account, I wired a decent five figure transfer to my wife. I ordered the wire late last night so I get that nothing would happen until today.
As of right now (4:41 EST), the money left my account but my wife has not received it. I got an email from discover this morning that it was processing and to be on the look out for a tracking number “once the wire transfer is completed on Discover’s end”.
I don’t usually wire money so I’m a bit paranoid. Everything looking normal? Or should I call discover or have my wife call her bank (not discover)?
I’m prob overreacting as I thought wires were within an hour or so during business hours, but wanted to see if y’all had some insight.
Hey all!
My parents from India often send me money in the US via wire transfers. I have a checking account with Bank of America and it works flawlessly but they charge a $15 per wire transfer.
However, Discover doesn't charge fees on incoming wire transfers. I have a savings account (+credit card) with Discover, but I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with Discover. Me personally, I have not had any issues with my Discover account, but I have never tried wire transfers with them.
Can international wire transfers be received into a savings account? My parents send money in USD so I think it should be fine.
Wires into Discover are processed through Bank of NY Mellon. Does this intermediary bank charge any fees?
Does Bank of America's incoming international wires get processed through Bank of NY Mellon? I can't find any information related to this, but my assumption would be no since BoA is a large US bank.
For what it's worth, I'm talking about dollar amounts between $8,000 - $15,000 per transfer.
