I want to signup for Discover HYSA. There is a signup bonus, but it seems unclear if I need to keep my deposit for a period of time to get the bonus. Has anyone done this offer? How'd it go?

Hi!
In order to get the Discover Savings account opening bonus of 150$/200$ on a deposit of 15k/25k USD within the first 30 days, What is the minimum holding period of that deposit in the account? Am I allowed to use the funds once the requirement is met?

What are the requirements for qualifying for a Discover bonus offer (such as minimum deposit amounts or being a new customer), and how can I make sure I meet them?
If my Discover promo code is supposed to auto-populate but doesn’t, what steps should I take to ensure it’s applied and I receive the bonus?
How do I know if I’ve entered my Discover promo code correctly, especially when the code includes letters and numbers that look similar (like “O” vs. “0”)?
I feel cheated by Discover bank. Within 10 days of opening up my new/first time Discover bank savings account, I deposited $25k from an external bank. 30 days later Discover deposited $150 into the savings for account promotion. The account promotion was $150 for $15k or $200 for $25k. I called Discover bank and they told me they see that I added $25k into my new savings within 30 days but they will have to do research and it will take 3 weeks. $50 isn't a big difference but I earned it and it is the principle of the matter. Has this happened to anyone else?
I recently came to know about the money market account offered by discover and got curious about its benefits.
My understanding so far is that money market account has combined benefits of Checking+Savings (4.35%) account, however with a little lesser APY (4.2%).
Now what I’m wondering is if I let go of the additional savings from savings account, can I then use money market alone instead of Checking+Savings account?
I’m sure I might be missing something here. Please enlighten me..
Recently got the 1% debit because it seems like more businesses are charging for credit.
I want to get the overdraft protection by keeping my money in a savings account and appreciating in value.
I'm wondering how other people were able to get a promo code. Is there something they want you to do to get the offer?
I'm interested in using a Discover savings account offer code to qualify for the $150 or $200 opening bonus, which requires a deposit of $15,000 or $25,000 within the first 30 days. Does anyone know the minimum period that deposit has to remain in the account to keep the bonus? Also, once I meet the deposit requirement, can I withdraw or use the funds freely?
Quick question for everyone. I opened a discover savings account around the 5th of October for the $150 bonus. I have slowly been transferring money every week to reach the 15k minimum required to get the bonus. I called today to double check and make sure that promo was attached to my account. They then told me that the offer ended yesterday so I wasn't eligible for it since I had transferred the last of the money into my savings account today. I thought you only had to transfer the money to the account within the first 30 days of opening the account. I didn't realize you had to do it before their offer ended yesterday. Does anyone have any previous experience dealing with this in the past or is this a new thing?
I'm curious to opening an account with them but know nothing about them. I saw some offer code where I would get $200 if I deposited $25k. So I have some questions. Side note: I currently use WF but am not too happy with them.
Is there a physical Discover branch or is it all online?
Where can I see incentives for going to Discover? How do i know if an incentive is "good" or "amazing" in its own terms?
Do I need to have a decent amount of money under my belt for this bank since they expect $25k for their offers?
I also dont have a credit card. Is Discover a decent credit card to have to start?
I also have decent credit, around 750, will this play a factor in anything?
I was also told to look into a ROTH IRA. What is it, When should I get that started and how would I?
I recently got a full time job if that matters at all, but I'm not making anything to get excited about yet. Its above minimum and pays bi weekly(80hr checks).
Now I don't know what other questions I should ask and what else I should know beforehand with this kind of stuff. I'm looking for as much help and thoughts as possible. Knowledge is power right?
Received this promo from Discover to open their savings account to receive a $200 bonus ($25K deposit) or $150 bonus ($15K deposit).
Question: in the T&C, they mention: “Qualifying deposit(s) may consist of multiple deposits and must post to Account within 45 days of account open date. Maximum bonus eligibility is $200. Account must be open when bonus is credited. Bonus will be credited to the account within 60 days of the account qualifying for the bonus.”
If anyone has done this before, is it possible to deposit the money to trigger the bonus, and then pull it out next day?
Noticed this on their site today, why?
Recently opened a Discover online savings account to try and collect the $200 sign up bonus. According to the fine print, the only requirement is to deposit $25,000 into the account within the first 30 days of the account being open. I deposited $15,000 the first week that I had the account open, and then withdrew all of it a few days later with the expectation that I would deposit another $10,000 later this month and collect the full $200.
Despite what the fine print says, I just got off the phone with a CS rep who said that they were told by their supervisor that the deposited money has to remain in the account until the bonus credits to the account in order to receive the bonus. This blatantly contradicts the terms and conditions, so I was hoping to get some clarity from this sub. This question seems to have been asked on reddit in the past, but with a lack of clear answers and bank policies change over time anyway.
Thank you!
Edit: Made two more separate calls to Discover CS and both reps told me that I'm good and I'll receive the $25,000. Seems likely that the first was mistaken.
The Discover savings bonus is back. There are two tiers:
-
Deposit $15,000 & receive $150
-
Deposit $25,000 & receive $200
Promo code is: NW518 & link is here (warning this might be a NerdWallet affiliate link, but no other links around currently. Rest assured I get $0 from this).
Now some of you are probably thinking "I don't have $25,000...". Lucky for you cumulative deposits work (e.g add $1,000, withdraw and repeat). Although limit of 6 withdrawals per month.
Enjoy :). Discover savings bonus originally posted on my blog here
