It’s because the Duo Premium package (no ads on both) is only available by subscribing directly through Disney for $20. Current Hulu subscribers can add on Disney plus (with ads only) for $2 because they only offer the ads version ad an “add on”, not ad free. It’s definitely the better deal for Hulu subscribers to cancel their plan and re-sign up through Disney for the better deal for the same price if they want both. More on reddit.com

Not exactly. You can pay for Disney+ annually and then select the bundle in Hulu. Hulu is then charged at a reduced amount each month to account for the bundle and prepaid Disney+.
