Taking advices for under table swivel tray
Any ideas for a DIY locking mechanism for a folding tray table?

Hi there,
I've done some basic DIY before but nothing too ambitious and this project doesn't appear too hard but I though I'll take advices as it hardly ever goes perfectly smooth 😅
I've seen in a restaurant a table that can "extend" with a hidden tray that "swivel out" from below (I have pictures of that for reference) and I'd like to make a similar addition to a coffee table I have.
My coffee table opens with storage inside so I have access to the inside which is good. So my idea is to get a big bolt, insert it from below with a few metal washer between the tray and the table to create a gap between them, have nut with rubber washer on the inside of the table and that should work (hopefully that makes sense)
An I on the right path? Any better ideas or comments on things I might forget? It looks like the washer the use has "teeth", not sure what that is.
Thanks,
