Well, it only took the California DMV, 218 days or 7 months, 4 days or 31 weeks and 1 day to get my Personalized Plate (RSMACHE). The website says 6-8 weeks! They are such a good business model, almost as good as the Post Office! Way to go guys! More on macheforum.com

Hey all,
I am curious to know if any California residents have ordered vanity plates and can provide insight on the processing time. Specifically, I have chosen the "1960 Legacy" yellow-on-black plates with personalized text.
On 12/06/2022, I submitted my online order through dmv.ca.gov and received a receipt for my vanity plates.
I am wondering if anyone has received their custom license plates recently and can share their delivery timeline. The DMV website indicates that it typically takes 8-12 weeks, and as I am currently in the 8th week without any updates or mail regarding my plates, I am interested in hearing others' experiences with delivery times in California.
If you have any information to share, it would be greatly appreciated!
An update as of 5/13/2023:
I have yet to receive any updates or my vanity plates from the DMV. Despite reaching out to them via phone on March 10, 2023, the only information I was given was that my name and plate had been reserved and approved. Shockingly, the DMV representative informed me that it could take up to 9-10 months from the date of my initial order for me to receive my plates. This timeline seems absurdly long and raises questions about the efficiency of their processes. According to the representative, there is currently a delay caused by an aluminum shortage.
