I'm in the process of getting a HP Omen 16. My previous gaming laptop was an ASUS TUF and with ASUS we have Armoury Crate, which is a nightmare.
I know that Omen has the Gaming Hub, what about it? Keep or remove? Useful or not?
I always uninstall the Armoury Crate on my ASUS and I never really had to control the fans or RGB lightning of my keyboard, everything worked fine. So I'm wondering if it's the same for the Omen version so that it doesn't really have any impact on the overall performances.

I first removed it on my Victus laptop, then spent countless hours trying to solve an issue with the fans. The issue was; when the PC was idle, the fans used to start blowing at full speed for no reason. That caused the fans to gather dust and I had to clean them every 2 months if not sooner. Then I installed OGH for some reason, found the Performance Control section, set it to quiet when I'm not gaming; and suddenly the Victus was the most quiet laptop that I ever had. I had no noticeable performance issues either. However thanks to this topic I now discovered OmenMon and I will give it a try soon.

I have Omen 25L and I checked out the menu, I can control fan speed and there is also "performance mode" but is it actually useful? Will I see better performance in games with fps? I haven't used such software before, only nvidia control panel

omen hub shows 80°C and it runs the fan on jet speed while I'm browsing, on balanced. I have something to add...just in now I opened the omen hub and as usual it showed high temps(80°C) with high fan speed while browsing net(btw idk why this is happening). So when I also opened afterburner, it showed me the same temps(80°C) but after waiting for a few seconds, they dropped to 43°C on afterburner and guess what?! the temps on omen hubs dropped too! But when I closed afterburner, the temps in hub went up to 83°C and the fan started spinning like a MF. This is happening everytime I try. ¿Shitty omen hub making my system run hotter? WTFFFF. I'll make a post on this again, I need a solution.

I had more issues using it than benefit provided. You are better served deleting it and using ryzen master or xtu.

Hey! I recently got an Omen Transcend 14-fb0007no. This is my work laptop (it's enrolled in Intune but I'm in IT, so it's cool). Is the Omen Gaming Hub app necessary to have the PC on "performance mode" on or even game with it and achieve high fps? Isnt it enough to put the Windows power settings in performance and it understand to use GPU instead of integrated
Feels like it Omen gaming hub app triggers UAC for system optimizer which is REALLY annoying and can't get rid of it and it also eats up lot of resources.
Anyone have som experience or input to this?

There is an open-source alternative to omen gaming hub, its called omenmon. You find everything about it on its github page, I recommend you read it before using it, it has fan control, gpu power control, thermal readings and more. https://omenmon.github.io Naturally you want to uninstall Omen gaming hub when installing this, altough they can work together, there is no reason to keep em both. I use this in combination with Universal x86 tuning utility If I ever want more or less CPU power/CPU boost On/of. Another opensource fan/gpu/cpu software controller that is not specific to Omen is G-helper, works well enough even though it was made for rog laptops.

not really tbh. it just gives a handy keyboard shortcut to change win11 battery power modes. beside the performance mode and keyboard lighting sections, the rest of the app feels like a telemetry mess. like im sure the reason why this app 'feels" slow is cuz of the gaming deals section and all the telemetry it's picking up. there is also an open-source version of this app called omencore https://omencore.info/

You don’t have to but u get lots more control about the laptop/pc with the Gaming Hub since it is from HP, and the performance impact is way smaller compared to what others say
