My wife doesn’t want to spend any unnecessary money. Right now I’m thinking we’re looking at waterproof laminate in our house, has anyone done this without any underlay? She is saying she wouldn’t notice the difference so why spend more.

If installing over concrete, dont bypass checking the moisture content of the slab, needs to be below 5%. Just got done looking at a whole house DIY where it wasn't checked and floor failed Slab was over 30% when I inspected it. The entire floor is buckled
