T-14 Schools that Require the CSS Profile
International Stanford applicants applying for financial aid.
International students who applied to Stanford. Please answer this. Financial Aid/Scholarships
Stanford CSS Profile
Yeah that sounds so strange but I guess they figured that if you can’t afford the CSS fee, you probably can’t afford any of the tuition and very little of room and board. So they probably have a good idea of your EFC even if it’s with an uncertainty of around 2-5k. You know what I mean?
More on reddit.comHi guys,
Reaching out to ask a question. I wanted to know, are there T-14 institutions that require you to turn in the CSS Profile before being admitted? I saw that Columbia Law School asks all applicants to submit a CSS profile before February 15th.
Asking here because I am very unsure. Much appreciated if someone could help.
Hello! This fall 2023, many international students have applied to Stanford University. And, financial aid is the most important factor for the majority of international applicants, so you must send a CSS profile, which costs $16 plus the $9 application fee, but there is an option to save this cost by sending an ISAFA application, which Stanford University offers as an alternative way. Here is the official link down below where you will get the ISAFA application pdf as well as instructions on how to send it.

Please comment if the way you submitted your supplemental financial documents to Stanford was different than the following:
First, I sent my CSS Profile to Stanford.
I attached all my financial documents (My Parents' National Tax Form 2021 (Original along with Certified Notary Translation to English), Bank Statement, and Letter of Income Verification from the Employer to the form (whose link is present in our Stanford portal).
I wasn't requested to submit any supplementary financial document by Stanford in my IDOC. So, I looked into it a little and found that Stanford requires International Students to send their supplementary financial documents through the link in the portal.
The following "Note" is in the Stanford portal:
Please note: The Financial Aid Office (FAO) cannot confirm receipt of financial aid materials until after admission decisions are released. If the Stanford school code was listed in your CSS Profile and FAFSA, then our staff will be able to access your documents. Additionally, FAO does not accept emailed documents. US and Canadian applicants should upload supporting documentation through IDOC and all other international applicants through the FAO Document Upload.
And this is the link I used: FAO Document Upload.
Did you all do the same?
