Regular hours Thanksgiving day and Christmas eve.
Christmas hours announced
Last year we were open an hour earlier and an hour later but no one knew that so we had no customers during that time

It better not be true!!!
More on reddit.comIncreased store hours before Christmas. And more pay for DG employees scheduled to work them?
I could understand being open until 3pm or 4pm, giving last minute help to the community and being open somewhat normal hours for those who don't celebrate the holiday.
But 11pm is ridiculous.
Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how many people had extra customers for Thanksgiving. We didn't have one additional sale for my store during the extended hours. And since we are down to 4 boxes of wrapping paper, I can't see us selling any last minute Christmas this week either.
Maybe they had the mindset: that because Black Friday sales were record lows for retailers nationwide, consumers will be forced into last minute shopping by default.
Which really isn't true in a world where online shopping is at its absolute peak.
More on reddit.comPure greed! Let us close early like every store in the same town/city. Give us a real chance to spend quality time with family. People can wait till the next day to buy smokes and chips or take back their nasty recycling.
