Hey! My name is Alex and I work for GoodMorning.com, parent company of Douglas and other BIAB mattress brands. We regularly commission third-party engineer tests on our own and competitor mattresses. Our engineers rated The Endy (original/medium-firm model) as a 5.7/10 firmness (where 10 is the most firm) and Douglas Original as a 6.7/10. Both of these mattresses fall into the medium-firm category, with Douglas leaning more firm, and Endy leaning more medium. Are you set on a specific type of mattress? Eg. Foam vs hybrid? And in what position do you sleep? One of our other children brands, Logan & Cove, offers a medium-firm hybrid mattress (engineer tested at 6.9/10 firmness) with zoned support coils to offer more lumbar support, if you're looking at coils over all-foam. Other firm, Canadian-made mattresses we've tested include Polysleep Sierra (foam), Haven LUX Rejuvenate (foam/latex), GhostBed Classic (foam/latex, company is American but they manufacture mattresses for Canadians in Canada). Endy is now also selling a 'Firm' version of their classic foam as well as their hybrid mattresses, which we haven't yet tested, but you'd have a 100-night sleep trial to test out. How did you select the firmness of it? Was the quality what you were expecting for the price? Did you exchange or return it? How do you return a mattress 4 times large than the packing it first came with? Etc.

Hated our endy. Moved it to the guestroom and got a proper matress. Has no bounce in it, just feels like sleeping on cheap foam. It has zero edge support. If you sit on the edge it flattens, and when I slept near the edge I felt like I was going to roll right off. Never buying a mattress without trying it out again - its so subjective!

I'm shopping for a new mattress and am considering buying either an Endy or a Douglas. Does anyone have any direct experience with either (or both)? Trying to find a direct comparison, esp. in regards to firmness (looking for a softer mattress as my husband and I are both side sleepers, but one that's still well supported).

Endy has retail locations, I recommend trying one out in person first. Pretty sure Douglas is online only. Sherway Gardens has an Endy and Casper store right next to eachother. I replaced my Endy with a Casper Hybrid, which was a nice upgrade, softer but still supportive. Casper rep was willing to negotiate and I ended up getting a great discount.

I have a Douglas, and tried out an Endy... I found the Endy to be slightly softer/less firm than the Douglas. (I prefer firmer).

I need to buy a mattress. I have been sleeping on my sectional and got rid of my Sealy mattress because it was worst mattress from day one. My sectional is like sleeping on a cloud. My choice is between Douglas, Silk and Snow or Endy? I am a back sleeper and weigh 124 lbs.

I did a lot of research into top brands, unbiased recommendations, and even reddit recommendations because me and my partner both have medical conditions that cause back and joint pain, I ended up on a Douglas. It's the right amount of firm yet soft top, great support, it came with everything like sheets, pillows, pillow and bed protectors, and most important to me was their warranty, 20 year guarantee that it won't sag. I had a fancy, expensive orthopaedic mattress prior and it lasted 7 years and felt like a hammock long before that and if this one goes that way, I at least have a good warranty to fall back on
