Try LM Studio, it's a nice app that also shows you if a model will fit in your ram. You can also use 50% of your system ram for the GPU, it will run slower but it runs. What you are running is not deepseek, it's deepseek distiled into a 7B Qwen model. The 8B one is distilled into Llama. On my macbook I am running the 70B one and it is pretty close to the cloud one, so far producing almost identical answers. More on reddit.com
