I recently reinstalled windows onto my pc and when I tried to use outlook it forced me to use the new one. I looked everywhere for a solution and they all said to click the "try new outlook" off but when I do I get an CMD error telling me that it cant find outlook. so I think my problems will be fixed if I can just download an older version.
Hello David**,**
Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community.
To download the Outlook desktop app for Mac, you can follow these steps:
Microsoft 365 Subscription: Ensure you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, as Outlook for Mac is typically available through this service.
Run the Installer:
- Open the downloaded installer package (
Microsoft_Office_Installer.pkg) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Run this installer to reinstall Microsoft Outlook Install package. Or follow this Article After following the above steps, now download Office apps or outlook from this referenced article: Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn.
After downloading the installer package (usually a .pkg file), open it and follow the on-screen instructions to install Outlook on your Mac.
Create a new Outlook profile and see if the issue persists. You can do this by going to the Outlook menu, selecting Preferences, and then clicking on Accounts. From there, click the plus sign to add a new account and follow the prompts. Based on your description, you can try setting up your account in a new Outlook profile and see if issue persists:
For reference: Manage profiles or identities in Outlook for Mac - Microsoft Support (Do not delete the current profile as yet to prevent any data loss).
By following these steps, you should be able to download and install the Outlook desktop app on your Mac successfully.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hi S M Nazmun Nur,
Will there be any different between the installer.pkg and updater.pkg? the pkg downloaded from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac shows as updater.pkg.
Kind regards,
Rey Hassan
Hey Taylor,
I just had the same issue this morning. I closed the application and it reverted automatically to the new Outlook. I have a bunch of shared work accounts and calendars that didn't populate, and I panicked!
In my panic I noticed something - when you go to the "Outlook" tab along the top of your computer (when the application is launched), you'll see that the option "New Outlook" is selected with a checkmark. I tried clicking the option to "unselect" it, but it didn't work. Then I tried holding the option for a few seconds and it provided me with a pop up message to revert back to the old outlook.
Thank god! Hope this helps :)

Hello
I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.
I understand your situation. It seems that the latest versions of Microsoft Office require macOS 10.14 or later. However, you should be able to use Office apps with version 16.43 or below on High Sierra.
Here's how you can install it:
- Visit the [Update history for Office for Mac] page. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac
- Scroll to find the 16.43 version.
- Download the package and install it.
Please note that after macOS 12.0, Microsoft supports the Office apps on macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, and if you want to continue with an older version of macOS, your Office apps will still work, but you'll no longer receive any updates including security updates
I hope this helps

This is great. It worked perfectly! Thanks so much for your help and for all the information. I understand that older models and versions of OS become out of date and are no longer supported, just very happy with my 2 items (MacBook Pro & iMac) that are still in great working order, so no need to upgrade hardware just yet:)
Thanks again so much for your help, it is much appreciated and a perfect reference for anyone else looking or having similar issues.
A TechNet or MSDN subscription is the only Microsoft sanctioned way. You can get TechNet pretty cheaply.
You can get Outlook 2003 and 2007 on Amazon and eBay too. See this for example: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Outlook-2003-OLD-VERSION/dp/B0000AZJVF
From $45 (open box) up to $116.99 (new).
