asRock z77 extreme 4 Dr. Debug Error 07 | Tom's Hardware Forum
January 9, 2021 - New system with an i5 3570K and asRock z77 Extreme 4 gave an error code of 10 on the dr. Debug display. Forums suggested switching the RAM sticks which fixed the error 10. However instead of getting error 10 I'm now getting 07. Any suggestions?

Check your cpu fan/water pump connections. If you use the wrong fan header it will think there is no CPU fan installed.

r/buildapc on Reddit: x570 Taichi - Dr Debug code 07 - need some help with what to try next!
November 20, 2020 -

Hi there!

I've been enjoying the x570 taichi for the past ~3 months or so and it had been going quite well overall.

My build (copied from pcpartpicker)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor ($449.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X63 98.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($140.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi ATX AM4 Motherboard ($299.00 @ B&H)
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($199.98 @ Amazon)
Video Card: XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Triple Dissipation Video Card ($409.99 @ B&H)
Case: NZXT H510 Elite ATX Mid Tower Case ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($129.99 @ Monoprice)

Over the past few weeks I had a couple episodes where it would go to a BSOD and have to restart. It would usually restart fine without further issues. I had no trouble during gaming with any glitches otherwise. I usually leave my computer on overnight and noticed sometimes I would come back and it would have restarted (and not in relation to a windows automatic update). It seemed like a crash had occurred at some point while I was not there. I could not figure out the trigger. I would often close out most all applications to minimize any potential software cause.

2 days ago I was using the computer without issue playing a game. I left it on overnight as usual and came back to the computer on but nothing showing on the screen. The dr debug code shows 07 which from what i've looked up states it could be a memory issue. I have 4 sticks of ram. Restarting the computer I do not get any 'beeps' (I used to get the single beep when starting up showing it was working). I dont see a bios screen nor is there anything visible on the screen. I dont think its even posting. I had not updated anything recently, downloaded any new apps etc that would make me think something new triggered it.

So far i've tried

  1. clearing the cmos (with and without ram present and with and without the power plugged in) using the button on the back of the mobo - clicking the cmos button for afew seconds and also longer presses to make sure.

  2. removing the graphics card and testing it in another computer (it works)

  3. Trying one stick of ram in a2 and also trying in b2 (using each of the 4 ram kits individually) and also trying two sticks of ram. Still code 07 shows up

  4. taking out all the ram and starting it gives code 10 but I believe that just means there is no ram present, which makes sense.

  5. ive confirmed the monitor is working, all the fans are functioning (on the cpu, gfx card, power supply, the lights all show up etc)

I would be surprised if the ram was still the issue (not sure how all 4 sticks would go bad). im going to buy a ddr4 kit of new ram to try and eliminate that as a possibility but if that does not work what would you recommend as the next step? Would you be suspicious that it is still the ram or how could I determine if its the cpu vs mobo vs other?

Thank you for the help!

r/ASRock on Reddit: Asrock - X570 Taichi - Troubleshooting - Error Code 07
November 8, 2019 -

It got here Friday, had it installed, and it worked with no issues for 4 days ( 24/7 ).

CPU: Ryzen 3900x

RAM: 4x16GB DDR4 - Corsair ( 2x2400 / 2x2600 ) running at stock 2133 with no OC profile enabled.

PSU: Corsair RM1000i

BIOS Settings: defaults with:

  • Advanced>AMD CBS>NBIO Common Options

  • "IOMMU" set to "Enable"

  • "Enable AER Cap" set to "Enable"

It was running latest Debian testing, kernel 5.2.0-3 with libvirt 6.5.0 and hosting 2 VMS with 1 core / 4 gb ram each.

The power draw on the whole system reported by the PSU before it locked was a constant 90 Watts.

Left the thing running and woke up to a locked up system displaying code 07 on the motherboard.

Even thou when the system was running properly the video card was never used, when it locked up i found it rather hot ( ~ 50 celsius ) which suggests the system rebooted on it's own.

Troubleshooting:

#1 - Let's start ruling out devices in the system

- Removed every single card installed.. one by one.. ( video / m.2 ssd / ram ) even the board from the case.

- Cleared CMOS after each one and booted into a code 07

#2 - Got the board out of the case, and reseated the CPU with new paste.

- Booted with nothing else but CPU on the board.

Got motherboard display: Code 10. ( Manual: 0x10 PEI_CORE_STARTED )

Which i assume is "memory missing"

#3 - Ruling out memory

Got some memory i had lying around, a generic Kingston 8GB 2400 stick.

- Installed it in every single slot and tried booting the system, all variants result in a code 07

Got a HyperX 1x16 GB memory from my workstation

- Installed it in every single slot and tried booting the system, all variants result in a code 07

I've tried combinations of A1+A2 and B1+B2 with the same type of ram ( Corsair 2400 / Corsair 2600 / HyperX 2600 ) and the result is the same. code 07

This kind of rules out the memory being the issue.

#4 - VideoCard missing / dead ?

Since i'm dealing with a motherboard and CPU combo that has no video, maybe 07 refers to that.

Got another RX580 Video Card from the pile of cards i've got from the mining craze and booted the system with 3 different versions.

Nope.. still code 07

#5 - Bios issues ?

The motherboard supports Bios FlashBack, with no CPU or Memory installed.

Since i never thought about updating the BIOS if it worked, i never saved the version it came with.. not knowing the version i got on the support site and assumed it was at least a couple of versions old.

So i started with X570TC1.80 loaded that to a fat32 formatted usb stick, renamed to creative.rom stuck it into the motherboard and initiated the USB Bios Flashback process.

After about 5 minutes the board stopped blinking which the manual says the process finished.

No cigar.. still code 07

Went on and got the next version X570TC2.00 and the next X570TC2.10

Powering up the motherboard still code 07.

# Now what..

- I haven't touched the latest Beta Bios yet. ( [Beta] 2.462019/11/1 )

- Don't have any AM4 CPUs lying around but i'm going to go to my local PC Store and get something to rule out the x3900 in a few hours ( when it opens ).

- Last resort i'm sending it back to the retailer for a different part.

- Some one else having the same issue

Anyone else had issues with this ? any suggestions ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:

Update on the situation.

Brought the Motherboard and cpu to a local pc parts service and tested the motherboard with 2 different 2000 and 3000 series CPUs. Same result Error Code 07.

So.. till RMA i said let's get a motherboard.

Bought a new x370 board, and got the cpu installed on it. Posted once into bios. saved the settings and it rebooted.

From this moment on, once very 20-30 reboots it might post once.

Conclusion:

Time to RMA both CPU and Motherboard.

Hi all! I recently upgraded my mobo from an asrock b450m steel legend to the x570 taichi. Everything is going well and im in bios, however im getting the code 98 on my little dr debug thing. I looked it up in the manual and it translates to "DXE_CON_IN_CONNECT" Anyone know what that means? I don't have any storage plugged in right now if that helps. Sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find it anywhere Thanks.

In my case it was a stupid problem, I didn't have both power connectors connected to the card. Try re-seating your card. If that doesn't work you could try without the card using the onboard video to see if it is your GPU.
