Ok so I'm looking for a headshot generator, but I need it to be realistic since it's going to my LinkedIn. Which, in your experience, is the best at this? Also preferably cheap, because if it is $50 bucks for a couple of headshots then at that point I'll just hire a profesional photographer

r/generativeAI on Reddit: Dreamwave AI Portraits – $69 for One Picture?! No Price Info Until After Uploading Photos
July 8, 2025 -

Hey everyone, I just had a frustrating experience with the Dreamwave AI portrait website and wanted to share it in case it helps others avoid the same thing.

I was trying to create a professional portrait for my LinkedIn profile using Dreamwave. Before uploading my photos, I searched the site for pricing info, but couldn’t find anything clear about how much it would cost.

Then, after selecting and uploading a bunch of my personal pictures (which took some time), the site finally showed the price: $69 for just ONE portrait! That felt really misleading. I think they should definitely tell users the price before collecting personal data like photos.

Has anyone else experienced this? Also, if someone knows of a more affordable or transparent alternative—or if you’re good with photo editing and could help me get a nice LinkedIn picture—I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Yikes. Forcing you to upload your personal photos just to reveal a $69 price tag is a pretty scummy move. That's not a user experience; that's a data hostage situation. Your frustration is completely valid. Hiding the price until you're already invested is a garbage-tier dark pattern. For what it's worth, some reviews mention their pricing has different tiers, and you likely got funneled into their "$69.99 Best Value" package ( topview.ai ). Still, as another reviewer noted, there are very likely better alternatives out there ( medium.com ). You asked for help, so let's get you a killer LinkedIn picture without getting fleeced. You've got a couple of options: Try a Different Service (That's Hopefully More Transparent): The AI headshot space is crowded, which is good for you. You can check out popular alternatives like Aragon.ai , Secta AI , or BetterPic . I can't personally vouch for their checkout flow, so proceed with the caution you've rightfully earned. The DIY Route (Free, but Costs Your Sanity): If you want total control and to pay $0, you can always roll your own with Stable Diffusion. The basic workflow is: Train a LoRA model on about 15-20 pictures of your face. This teaches the AI what you look like. Use that LoRA with a good prompt and a realistic base model to generate images. Optionally use ControlNet to have fine-grained control over the pose. It's a bit of a learning curve, but it's a powerful skill to have. Here's a search to get you started down that rabbit hole: Google: DIY AI headshot tutorial with Stable Diffusion . Hope this helps you get a profile pic that makes recruiters throw money at their screens. This was an automated and approved bot comment from r/generativeAI . I’m confused by this because I’ve used Dreamwave for photos and paid about $35 and got a gallery of 250 photos. I also figured out to use Midjourney for this but it took about an hour and a $10 monthly subscription. So there are options.

r/ArtificialInteligence on Reddit: Tried 3 AI Headshot Generators – Here’s What Worked for Me
April 2, 2024 -

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been exploring different AI tools recently, particularly for generating professional headshots, as I needed one for my LinkedIn profile and other business-related platforms. I thought I’d share my experience with three AI headshot generators: BetterPic, Aragon AI, and AI SuitUp.

Here’s a breakdown of how they performed for me:

1. BetterPic

What I Liked:

BetterPic surprised me with how realistic the generated images looked. The facial features and lighting were spot on, giving the final image a professional touch.

You can tweak the look by selecting various styles (corporate, casual, etc.), which made it versatile depending on where you plan to use the photo.

I got my images back in an hour, which is faster than most tools I’ve tried.

What Could Be Improved:

While the output is decent, I wish there was a flexible trial version or free credits to test more features before committing to a full purchase.

Some of the background options were a bit plain, and I had to manually edit them afterward for a more polished look.

2. Aragon AI

What I Liked:

Not only did Aragon give the most realistic results, they also looked the most like me. It also has a huge variety of backgrounds and clothing options, which really helps if you’re looking for different styles for different platforms.

It’s easy to navigate, and the step-by-step process makes it perfect for beginners who aren’t tech-savvy.

I got my results in about 30 minutes, which was faster than I expected. They also offer a product for teams with features like branded headshots, which is helpful if you want headshots for your company or team.

What Could Be Improved:

A few of the images had a slight softness around the eyes and smile area, but nothing that affected the overall quality or usability.

3. AI SuitUp

What I Liked:

If you're after truly polished, corporate-ready headshots, AI SuitUp delivers pretty realistic results. The crisp, well-designed backgrounds and refined color schemes maintain a formal look that still stands out.

It also offers a helpful free tool to just change your background for LinkedIn profile pictures, so you can explore the platform before committing to the AI images.

What Could Be Improved:

While the focus on professionalism is a definite strength, AI SuitUp might not be ideal if you’re looking for a more whimsical or artistic style. They just offer professional style headshots and lack "creative" options. If you need something for personal projects or purely creative profile pictures, other AI portrait generators may suit you better.

Bonus: Headshot Pro

What I Liked:

It's clear HeadshotPro is the most professionally oriented AI headshot generator. While other products I tested dabble in dating photos, this one is strictly business.

If you're on the market for AI headshots for more than just 1 person, you may find HeadshotPro's team management features appealing. According to their website, they can support large corporate teams.

What Could Be Improved:

HeadshotPro produces realistic professional headshots... but that's all it does! There are no options for casual photos, which personally was a bit of a let down. After all, there's more to life than just work.

Final Thoughts

Out of the main three, BetterPic gave me professional-looking results with little hassle. For those who need more variety or have creative needs, AI SuitUp might be more your style. Aragon AI gave me the most natural-looking results and looked the most like me, with a broad selection of backgrounds and outfits.

Have any of you tried these tools? Or are there other AI headshot generators I should know about?

November 8, 2025 - This one creates soothing vintage-vibe AI headshots from your input. ... The vibe is calm and professional at the same time. Here are some images that it created for me: ... The only issue is that some of these images are a bit too smooth. This gives it away and you can instantly see that it’s either AI or heavy edits. Also, this tool just creates images but doesn’t let you edit those. Other than that, it’s a wonderful alternative to DreamWave and gives great results for you.

r/ChatGPT on Reddit: Best AI Headshot Generators I Tried in 2025 (My Honest Comparison After Testing 8 Tools)

I needed a new LinkedIn headshot recently and didn’t feel like booking a full photoshoot, so I ended up testing a handful of the most popular AI headshot generators to see which ones actually look realistic. I ran the same set of selfies through Aragon AI, BetterPic, HeadshotPro, Dreamwave, AI SuitUp, Canva’s Profile Photo tool, PhotoPacks, and InstaHeadshots, and the differences were bigger than I expected.

Aragon AI gave me the most naturally accurate results overall. The lighting felt believable, and the face shape was closest to real life. A few images had slight blur around the eyes if I zoomed in, but they were still very usable. The only drawback is that you have to pay before seeing anything, which made me a little nervous.

BetterPic stood out for anyone who wants heavy editing control. Their tools let you adjust clothing, backgrounds, and small details, and the facial sharpness was impressive. That said, the resemblance drifted on a couple images when my input selfies weren’t great, so this one definitely rewards good source photos.

HeadshotPro had the strongest corporate look out of everything I tried. If you want something that looks like a studio lighting setup for business or consulting, this is probably the closest you’ll get. It doesn’t really offer casual or lifestyle styles though, so it’s more of a one-lane product.

InstaHeadshots is the only AI headshot generator that lets you preview every headshot before you pay. No upfront cost, no gambling on the results, you only pay if you actually like the photos. Most AI headshot services charge $30–50 upfront. InstaHeadshots flips that by giving full previews first.

.

Dreamwave leaned heavily into privacy and data handling, which some people might prefer, especially for professional settings. Their results looked polished, but the processing time was noticeably slower than everything else.

AI SuitUp was very clean and strictly corporate, almost like something you’d see on a company directory page. The downside is that it doesn’t offer much stylistic variety, so it’s mostly useful if you want a serious, boardroom-ready portrait.

Canva’s Profile Photo generator was the simplest free option. It’s not as realistic as the paid tools, but it works if you just need something quick and aren’t too concerned about fine details.

Some of the faster tools like PhotoPacks or Kiwi produced a couple surprisingly good images, but the consistency wasn’t quite at the level of the bigger platforms.

After testing everything, the conclusion I came to is that different tools excel for different reasons. Aragon is still the most accurate for overall realism. HeadshotPro is the best if you only want a corporate, LinkedIn-ready look. BetterPic is ideal if you want to edit or refine details. And InstaHeadshots is the easiest low-risk option because you can see the full batch before paying, and the speed makes it great for experimenting with better input selfies.

The thing that made the biggest difference across every tool was the quality of the photos I uploaded. Natural light, multiple angles, and no filters improved the results more than anything else. Even the best AI generators struggle when the input is a dark or grainy selfie.

Hope this helps anyone else trying to figure out which AI headshot generator is actually worth using. If anyone has tried other tools recently, I’m curious how they compare.

January 10, 2022 - While there are now many sites for creating AI generated headshots, even a quick look at their websites show the results often look like heavily Photoshopped images, with too much Instagram filtering applied and generally unconvincing. I think they know this too - the sample results are only available as smaller lo res photos so that you cannot clearly see any important detail. One that seemed better than most in this regard was Dreamwave.io, so when I saw their current 40% off promo I thought I'd give it a try and this seemed like an appropriate subreddit to share the experience.
