As a Syrian, this is a horrible map. It is clearly politically motivated and biased to alienate Arabs and Sunnis. Judging from the name of "M Izady" seems he might be Iranian which kinda fits the motive. Most Christians in Syria are "Arabs", all Druze are "Arabs", and all Alwites are "Arabs". And when I say Arabs, I mean Levantine Arabs, so using the word "Levantine" ONLY to refer to Christians and describing other sects as "Arabic speaking" seems to imply that Arabs are a different ethnicity and are not native to this land. Yet another map that doesn't do a proper distinction betwen Alevis and Alawis. I'll be honest, "Alevi Arap (Nusayri)" is confusing to the max because it essentially says that Alevis and Alawis are the same, which they're not.

The Druze of southern Syria have publicly declared their desire to secede from Syria and be annexed to Israel. Based on topography this is what the annexation would look like. The IDF has already taken over the DMZ in yellow and moved into some of the Druze towns.
